Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University organized a seminar and launched its Solar Power Plant (solar power plant) as part of its commitment to the Green Campus initiative and the transition to clean energy. The activity aimed to raise environmental awareness across the university community and explain how renewable energy can contribute to a more sustainable campus.

The seminar, titled “Clean Energy Transition Towards a Sustainable Campus”, was held on 26 November 2025 in the Diorama Room, Campus I. Participants included the Rector, the Vice Rector for Cooperation, the Head of the Green Campus Development Center, representatives of PT Agra Surya Energy, and the UI GreenMetric Data Management team. The presentations covered the benefits of solar power, such as reducing dependence on fossil fuels, potentially lowering electricity costs, and cutting carbon emissions. The university also shared other sustainability initiatives, including electric buses and bicycles, water fountains, reduced plastic packaging, and the development of an integrated waste-processing facility.

According to the university’s article, solar power plant installations had been developed at the Faculty of Islamic Education and Teacher Training (FITK) and the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST). Expansion to other buildings may be considered after further evaluation. The seminar also provided a forum for environmental education and knowledge-sharing on renewable energy and sustainable campus practices. PT Agra Surya Energy contributed external expertise and support, while the UI GreenMetric Data Management team highlighted the importance of monitoring and reporting the implementation of clean energy.
