COMMUNITY SERVICE

The Community Service Program at Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University Jakarta (UIN Jakarta) is part of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education which involves lecturers, students, and faculty administrative staff in various activities that benefit the community. Referring to the Vision of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, namely "Realizing a Globally Reputable University with Excellence in the Integration of Islamic Sciences, Indonesianness, Science, and Technology", various community service programs, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta intends to play a more active role in providing solutions based on academic studies of community needs and problems.

 

Community Service by Students

The community service program itself is an obligation that must be carried out by every student of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta under the name of the Student Community Service Program (KKN).

KKN is one of the initiatives that combine community service with higher education. Based on the vision of community service of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, this KKN program aims to:

    1. Produce students who care and empathize:Through KKN, students are invited to understand the potential and problems that exist in the community. They learn to have empathy and concern for various forms of problems faced by residents.
    2. Collaborative Application of Science, Technology, and Art:KKN allows students to work in teams and across disciplines. They not only understand theory, but also apply it in practice. This covers a wide range of areas, from health to the environment.
    3. Instilling Personality Values: Besides the academic aspect, KKN also emphasizes personal values. Students are taught about tenacity, work ethic, responsibility, independence, leadership, entrepreneurship, and the spirit of research.

The KKN program of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta students is offered in a number of KKN programs involving the cooperation of Ministries / Government Agencies, Local Government, Industry and others. Each KKN participant receives direct guidance from lecturers appointed by the Center for Community Service (PPM) at the Institute for Research and Community Service (LP2M) UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta.

Here is some information related to the community service program at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta:

    1. Regular KKN: This program lasts for one full month.Students are registered in AIS UIN Jakarta and the KKN location is determined by the Center for Community Service LP2M UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta based on recommendations from the Regional Government (Pemda) of the service location.2.KKN Religious Moderation:Focuses on community service related to religious moderation.In this program, participating students are expected to be more familiar with the diversity of society in the country as well as encouraged to become a driving force for harmonious national life.
    2. KKN In Campus: A community service program in collaboration with institutions/units within UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. Through this service program, students are invited to innovate support for the institutional development of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta through the units where they do their service.
    3. KKN Kebangsaan: Targeting issues of nationality and patriotism. Through this service program, students are expected to get more opportunities to build self-understanding and society in building a strong national life through their service innovations.
    4. Thematic KKN: Focuses on specific themes, such as environment, education, or health. Through this service, students participating in Thematic KKN are expected to be able to provide innovative solutions to various social problems in the fields of environment, education, health, and others.
    5. International KKN: Involves cooperation with international institutions or involves students from abroad. Through this program, students of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta get wider community service opportunities at the international level.
    6. International KKN via AIESEC: An international program that involves AIESEC as a partner.The focus of this community service is to encourage students to be more actively involved in achieving the Suistanable Gevelopment Goals (SDGs).

Registration for community service can be done directly by students through the Center for Community Service LP2M UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, on the third floor of Gd. Rectorate, Campus I Jl. Community Service by Lecturers

Lecturers at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta have a significant role in community service through various initiatives. There are various community service programs carried out by UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta lecturers, but all of them are divided into three service groups.

First, Innovation and Scientific Development

    1. Research and Innovation: Lecturers are involved in research and scientific development, both through programs at the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) and research grants from the Ministry of Religious Affairs.This aims to increase scientific capacity and produce innovations that are relevant to the needs of society.
    2. International Publications: Lecturers contribute to the improvement of scientific quality by publishing research results in international journals.
    3. Research Collaboration: Lecturers collaborate with other institutions, both national and international, to develop knowledge and solve community problems.

Second, Da'wah and Community Empowerment

    1. Community Capacity Building: Lecturers' dedication does not only focus on providing assistance, but also on developing the capacity of the community so that they can overcome their own challenges and problems.
    2. Education and Da'wah: Lecturers are involved in spreading Islamic preaching and providing religious guidance to the community. This involves a holistic approach, including educational and moral aspects.

Third, Collaboration with Other Institutions

UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta lecturers conduct benchmarking and collaboration with other institutions, such as visits to other higher education institutions and cooperation with institutions abroad. This collaboration aims to produce innovation and enrich scientific understanding.

These various forms of community service are part of the commitment of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta lecturers to build a better society, both through innovation, scientific development, and da'wah.
