YBM PLN provides scholarship for UIN Jakarta students

Rectorate, UIN News Online – Baitul Maal Foundation, PT PLN is committed to provide scholarship for UIN Jakarta students. This commitment is outlined in the cooperation agreement between YBM PT PLN and UIN Jakarta, signed by the Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis and Head of Strategic Cooperation of YBM PLN Herry Hasanuddin, witnessed by Vice Rector for Student Affairs Masri Mansoer and Vice Rector for Cooperation Andi Faisal Bakti on Wednesday (02/12/2020).

In his remarks, Herry hoped that this collaboration could improve the quality of education in order to create professional human resources in the country. “It also provides opportunities for the unfortunate in reaching their goals in the future,” he explained.

The scholarship itself, continued Herry, comes from the zakat funds collected by YBM PLN from all Muslim employees who worked at PT PLN.

“Scholarships will be granted for eight semesters or four-year study period,” he said.

On the same occasion, Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis expressed her gratitude for the scholarship assistance provided by YBM PLN. According to Amany, UIN Jakarta has many high-achieving students who need financial assistance.

“On behalf the Academic community of UIN Jakarta, we would like to thank you for your support. Hopefully this scholarship can help our students in pursuing their higher education, and allowing them to focus on their degrees,” said Rector. (usa/zm)
