Welcoming New Graduates, Alumni Association Urges Graduates to Uphold Integrity
Harun Nasution Auditorium, UIN News Online – The 141st Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral Graduation Ceremony of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, carrying the theme “Strengthening Innovative Graduates with Integrity and Impact on Humanity,” took place with great festive celebration. The event was further enriched by an inspiring address delivered by UIN Jakarta alumnus Fajar Fakhrian at the Harun Nasution Auditorium, Saturday (05/08/2026).
Fajar Fakhrian, the top graduate of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) UIN Jakarta in 2018, was present representing the UIN Jakarta Alumni Association (IKALUIN). Drawing from his experience in Gemilang BCA Syariah during the 2024–2025 period, he currently serves actively as a Branch Manager at BCA Syariah in 2026.
Reflecting on his academic journey, Fajar expressed profound pride in UIN Jakarta. According to him, choosing to study at UIN Jakarta was one of the best decisions of his life. The campus taught him to continuously pursue scientific progress without ever disregarding the divine dimension in every step of life. These values closely align with UIN Jakarta's motto, “Knowledge, Piety, Integrity.”
“I chose Jakarta and chose UIN Jakarta with conviction, confidence, and pride. The decision to study at UIN Jakarta was one of the best choices I have ever made in my life. UIN Jakarta's motto, 'Knowledge, Piety, Integrity,' is a principle I carry to this day in the professional world. These values are deeply relevant to embody and manifest within my work environment,” Fajar expressed.
Fajar emphasized the importance of the Islamic epistemological foundation he received at UIN Jakarta as a primary compass for preserving integrity in the workplace. In his view, a pursuit of knowledge that incorporates a divine dimension yields genuine inner peace while equipping graduates to never yield easily when offering their best contributions to society.
“Islamic epistemology teaches us to iqra bismi rabbikallazi khalaq—to read not merely for the sake of reading, but to read in the name of God. A divine dimension must reside in every inch of knowledge. Without involving God, our understanding will produce only illusory pleasure that fails to offer true tranquility. This value guides me to steadfastly uphold integrity in my work. Thank you, UIN Jakarta,” he conveyed.
In his address, he also offered congratulations alongside words of motivation for the graduates, reminding them that UIN Jakarta serves as a crucible (kawah Candradimuka) that tempers students with a solid foundation of knowledge and mature experience.
“Congratulations to all graduates. Never give up. We have been forged in this crucible. Armed with knowledge, experience, and faith in God, rest assured that we will succeed,” he concluded.
