Welcoming Ceremony for UIN Jakarta's Freshmen 2025 Led by the Rector
Jakarta, UIN Online News — Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University (UIN) Jakarta once again hosted the Introduction to Academic Culture and Student Affairs (PBAK) 2025, welcoming thousands of freshmen from across Indonesia.
The event, held on Tuesday–Wednesday, August 26–27, 2025, at UIN Jakarta’s Main Field and Harun Nasution Auditorium, marks the first step in shaping the character and integrity of students as both academic learners and responsible citizens.
UIN Jakarta Rector, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., emphasized that PBAK is not merely an orientation program but a vital process in cultivating academic culture and developing students’ character.
“PBAK is the gateway for new students to enter academic life. We want them to be not only intellectually capable but also socially aware, nationally minded, and committed to nurturing diversity. This generation will play a key role in advancing Indonesia’s future,” said the Rector of UIN Jakarta.
Beyond introducing the academic system, curriculum, and campus life, PBAK also strengthens students’ understanding of religious moderation, multicultural values, and patriotism—pillars that UIN Jakarta continues to uphold as a leading university integrating scholarship, Islamic values, and Indonesian identity.
“Today marks an important milestone. Hundreds of thousands applied to UIN Jakarta, and only about 9,100 were accepted. This is a privilege you must honor. The future of UIN is also in your hands. From now on, dedicate yourselves to learning, enriching your experiences, and building strong character and personality. The education world needs students who care, who are compassionate, and who are ready to contribute to the nation,” he added.
With the theme “Today’s Students for Tomorrow’s World: Spreading Kindness, and Nurturing Nature,” this year’s PBAK highlights the importance of students as change-makers who excel not only academically but also in social responsibility, environmental awareness, and commitment to humanitarian values.
The 2025 PBAK features cross-disciplinary figures delivering public lectures, motivational talks, and national insight sessions for new students.
