UIN Jakarta, UIN Online News — The State Islamic University (UIN) Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta officially opened the Introduction to Academic Culture and Student Affairs (PBAK) 2025 on Tuesday (August 26, 2025).
Carrying the theme “Today's Students for Tomorrow's World: Spreading Love, Preserving the Universe,” the event was attended by thousands of freshmen from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH), and Faculty of Psychology who were present at UIN Jakarta's Triguna Field. Meanwhile, freshmen from other faculties joined via the official UIN Jakarta YouTube live stream.
The Chairperson of PBAK 2025, Dr. Muhtadi, M.Si., expressed his gratitude for the smooth execution of this event.
“PBAK 2025 is attended by around 9,117 new students, with 4,500 of them present on site. This marks the beginning of your journey at UIN Jakarta—not only to pursue knowledge but also to develop character and empathy,” he stated.
SEMA Chairperson, Adinda Salsabilla, highlighted the meaning of this year’s PBAK theme.
“This theme is not just a magical sentence. It is a reminder that today’s students are being prepared for the world of tomorrow, to become a generation ready to contribute to the Golden Indonesia vision,” she said.
The Rector of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., in his address, emphasized the importance of readiness for the academic journey ahead:
“Today is a significant moment when hundreds of thousands applied to UIN Jakarta, and only around 9,100 made their way here. This is a great privilege that must be cherished. Dear students, the future of UIN also lies in your hands. Therefore, from now on, commit yourself to learning, enriching your experiences, and building your character and personality. The educational world needs students who care, who are compassionate, and who are ready to contribute to the nation,” he motivated.
The event continued with the reading of the Five Student's Promises (Panca Satya Mahasiswa), remarks from the SEMA and DEMA chairs, and an Inspiring Speech session with YouTuber and educational content creator Jerome Polin.
In his talk, Jerome highlighted the importance of readiness in facing the digital era:
“This theme is not just a slogan. It is a reminder that you are being prepared for the world ahead. Use your time on campus to build creativity, personal branding, and don’t just be a spectator. UIN Jakarta students must dare to stand out, make an impact, and bring positive change to society,” he advised.
PBAK 2025 is not merely an orientation but also a platform to instill the values of integration between knowledge, Islamic principles, and Indonesian identity, in line with UIN Jakarta’s vision as a globally recognized university. With this year’s theme, new students are encouraged to nurture compassion, tolerance, and unity (spreading love), as well as care for environmental sustainability and social responsibility.
