Waste
UIN Jakarta Green Campus Initiative
Organic waste bins, with their refreshing green color, are ready to accommodate food scraps, fruit peels, and dry leaves. These organic waste will later be processed into compost which is useful for fertilizing plants around campus. Imagine, our food waste can be transformed into natural fertilizer that supports the greenery of the campus!
Next to the organic barrel, we also find a non-organic barrel with a striking blue color.
These barrels are home to waste such as plastic, paper, cans, and bottles. These non-organic waste has the potential to be recycled into new products, reducing waste production and conserving natural resources. Finally, there is the B3 barrel with its distinctive yellow color. These barrels are specifically designed to hold hazardous and toxic waste, such as used batteries, fluorescent lamps, and chemicals. By separating B3 waste, we prevent environmental pollution and protect our health and that of other living beings.
The presence of these segregated waste bins is not just a physical facility, but also a reflection of our awareness of the importance of protecting the environment. By getting used to sorting waste from an early age, we contribute to creating a more sustainable campus. Let's make this good habit a legacy for future generations.
