Profile

Associate Professor Dr. Wannee Deoisres is a distinguished Thai academic, nurse, and leader in nursing education. She currently serves as Dean of the Faculty of Nursing at Rambhai Barni Rajabhat University, Thailand.

She has a strong educational background, having earned a PhD in Nursing from Case Western Reserve University, United States (1999). Prior to her current appointment, Dr. Deoisres devoted many years to teaching and research at Burapha University, where she taught across all levels of higher education—from undergraduate to master’s and doctoral programs. The courses she delivered included nursing theory, research methodology, family nursing, and advanced practice in maternal and midwifery nursing.

As a highly productive researcher, her scholarly work focuses on maternal and child health, midwifery, adolescent reproductive health, women’s health, family nursing, and nursing education. Her research has been published in leading international journals such as the Journal of Clinical Nursing, American Journal of Medical Genetics, Journal of Family Nursing, and BMC Public Health. She is also actively involved in international collaborative research, addressing issues related to family adaptation, adolescent maternal health, and the implementation of evidence-based practice.

Beyond her research and teaching activities, Dr. Deoisres has played a significant role in supervising master’s theses and doctoral dissertations, as well as in the development of internationally benchmarked nursing programs. She is a member of several prestigious professional organizations, including the International Family Nursing Association and the Thai Nursing and Midwifery Council, and has served as an editorial board member for a number of national and international nursing journals.

In recognition of her outstanding contributions, Dr. Deoisres has received numerous prestigious honors, including: Innovative Contribution to Family Nursing Award (Canada, 2005), Outstanding Nurse Award, Nurses’ Association of Thailand (2015), Outstanding Alumni Award, Sappasittiprasong College of Nursing (2005), Outstanding Faculty Member Award, Burapha University (1988), Visiting Professor, Wenzhou Medical University, China (2018–2020).

With more than four decades of experience in academia and research, Associate Professor Dr. Wannee Deoisres is widely recognized as a key figure in the advancement of nursing science, particularly in the fields of family nursing, maternal care, and reproductive health in Thailand and the Southeast Asian region.
