Wamenag appreciates the autobiography of Amany Lubis

Main Auditorium, UIN News Online – Religious Affairs Deputy Minister (Wamenag) Zainut Tauhid appreciates the autobiography Amany Lubis, which is launched in conjunction with Mother's Day, Friday (12/20/2019) at the Harun Nasution Auditorium, campus I of UIN Jakarta.

Zainut also hope that this book can inspire women to strengthen the quality of education. According to Zainut, as a country with the largest Muslim population, Indonesia is able to maintain its diversity through the role of education.

He also stressed that the existence of women and education must continue to exist as an effort to prepare a superior generation that always maintains peace through the teaching of Wasathiyah Islam, Islam Rahmatan Lil Alamin for the sake of the nation resilience in the future.

“Without women’s empowerment, societies will not be able to achieve full development potential. For me, there is no ongoing empowerment without involving women. Happy Mother's Day,” he said.

On the same occasion, the Rector also received two MURI awards as the first UIN female Rector as well as the first Asian woman who gave a speech in the presence of the King of Morocco. The award was given directly by MURI's Founder, Jaya Suprana.

According to Jaya Suprana, Amany's selection as an awardee is to affirm that there is no gender discrimination in Indonesia.

“I am deeply honored to give you this award. I think this is no longer an Indonesian record, but a proud world record. Congratulations, Prof. Amany,” said Jaya.

In response, Amany expressed her gratitude for this award. “Alhamdulillah, I can accomplish this achievement by the support of my family, especially my mother (Nabilah Lubis), colleagues, teachers, and friends. May Allah return your kindness,” said Amany.

Also present in the event, The Governor of East Java, Khofifah Indar Parawansa, Indonesian Minister of Religious Affairs 2014-2019 Lukman Hakim Saifuddin, Nabilah Lubis, and Azyumardi Azra. (usa)
