Ushuluddin Faculty Encourages Students' Social Entrepreneurship
Rectorate, UIN News Online – The Faculty of Ushuluddin encourages the growth of the spirit of social entrepreneurship among its students. To that end, the Faculty in collaboration with the People's Business and Economics Initiative (IBEKA) held virtual technical guidance on entrepreneurship on Wednesday-Thursday 1-2 September, 2021.
By raising the theme “Memperkuat Kewirausahaan Sosial Mahasiswa di Masa Pandemi Covid 19”, this event present the owner of IBEKA Iskandar Budisaroso Kuntoadji and the owner of Adida Batik Bahriyadi as resource persons.
Vice Dean for Student, Alumni and Cooperation of FU UIN Jakarta Edwin Syarif in his opening remarks Edwin Syarif appreciated the implementation of this event. According to Edwin, this activity is expected to encourage students' economic independence in addition to their academic abilities.
“Talking about entrepreneurship, one of the strong pillars of a country is the economic aspect that is directly supported by the people. This has been proven since the post-98 crisis, when small traders and other people's businesses were able to keep the nation's economy afloat,” said Edwin.
Meanwhile, Iskandar in his presentation explained that social entrepreneurship is an economic activity that is more oriented towards social awareness, not merely reaping individual benefits. "Social entrepreneurship, we can say that this business is more concerned with the needs of many people," he explained.
Because it is socially oriented, he continued, social entrepreneurship will later motivate the perpetrators to create social benefits, not just personal gain.
“The social business was opened by the God Almighty, because it is not only the work of the brain, but also the work of the heart. So that business is a way of life and getting closer to the God,” he added.
Meanwhile, Bahriyadi said, the main foundation of social entrepreneurship is spiritual activities. For this reason, the heart is required to run this kind of business.
“We have to look at ourselves first, what is the purpose of our life. This is to avoid dishonest practices in business,” he said.
The principle of social entrepreneurship is togetherness and equity, how to prosper the surrounding community. It's more a matter of the heart, I want to teach that life is not only about money “What is pursued is not only world profit, but also the hereafter,” he concluded. (usa/zm/man)
