University Senate Holds Plenary Session

Diorama Room,   UIN NEWS Online   - Towards the end of the 2014-2018 UIN Jakarta Rector's term of office, the University Senate held the XIV Plenary Session in the Diorama Room of Harun Nasution Auditorium, Tuesday (08/07/2018). The meeting was chaired by Senate Chair Atho Mudzhar and accompanied by the Senate Secretary of Suwito and attended by a number of Senate members.

In addition to the Chancellor's performance report, this activity was also the last session for members of the University Senate. This is due to the University Senate's management period will end in August. While the Chancellor's tenure will expire in January 2019.

"The University Senate's term of office ends this August, while the Rector and his staff will end in early January 2019," said Atho.

Rector in his report presented a number of achievements that had been achieved during 2015-2018. These achievements include academic fields, cooperation, campus infrastructure development, student affairs, research and scientific publications, and campus institutions.

According to Rector, one of the proud achievements was the recognition of UIN Jakarta at the ASEAN regional level on the four study programs by the ASEAN University Network Quality Assurance (AUN QA). The four study programs are Dirasat Islamiyah at the Faculty of Dirasat Islamiyah, Islamic Education , Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teaching Sciences, History of Islamic Civilization in the Faculty of Adab and Humanities, and Islamic Counseling Guidance at the Faculty of Da'wah and Communication Sciences.

In addition to recognition by AUN-QA, UIN Jakarta has also made achievements by obtaining a three-star certificate from the world university ranking agency, QS Stars.

"We are very grateful for all the achievements that have been achieved during my time as the Rector," he said.

Rector also expressed his optimism that UIN Jakarta in the future will become a higher education institution calculated by stakeholders. This sense of optimism arises along with obtaining institutional accreditation with an "A" rating from the National Higher Education Accreditation Board (BAN PT) recently.

In the field of institutional infrastructure, UIN Jakarta now has a new campus building for the Faculty of Economics and Business. In addition, a student dormitory or a simple rental apartment building (rusunawa) is also being built with the assistance of the Ministry of Public Works. For the time being, rusunawa is intended for foreign students, especially those from South Africa.

"But in the future it is possible that our students can also stay in the dormitory," said Rector

Other infrastructure that will be built is continuing the construction of the Education Institute and Education Personnel (LPTK) building of the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teaching Sciences located in Bojongsari District, Depok City, West Java. The building that stands on an area of ​​three hectares has long been stalled due to budgeting problems. "Insya Allah, the construction of the building will be continue by using the Public Service Agency (BLU) budget scheme. (usa-rs)
