Diorama Room, UIN News Online – The University Senate held a Plenary Session meeting in the Diorama Room on Tuesday (1/16/2018). The meeting was led by Senate Chairman Prof. Dr. HM Atho Mudzhar and attended by vice rectors, deans and senate members.
The main agenda of the hearing is to review the performance report of UIN Rector Prof Dr Dede Rosyada for three years between 2015-2017. Additionally, the meeting will also discuss strategic plans that will be conducted by UIN Jakarta leaders for the next year or the end of the rector's term in 2019.
In his speech, Rector of UIN Jakarta Dede Rosyada expressed his optimism that UIN Jakarta will become a world class research university. It was due to the many accomplishments achieved during his period. His achievements are in the field of education and teaching, research and publications, community service, institutional development, financial, facilities and infrastructure.
“There have been many improvements so we are very optimistic that UIN Jakarta will become a world-class university in the future,” said Dede.
Rector explained that the success of UIN Jakarta in the field of teaching and education is marked by the application of curriculum based on the Indonesian National Qualification Framework (KKNI) and its participation in various university ranking and academic work institutions such as Webometric, 4ICU, SINTA, Google Scholars, Scopus, and Times Higher Education (THE).
Furthermore, UIN Jakarta also improves its lecturer skills through a series of workshop activities. In 2017, there are at least 300 lecturers who have the opportunity to attend the workshop.
Another exciting thing is that UIN Jakarta has developed strategic programs in order to strengthen the education and teaching culture for its students, ranging from input, process and output. For example, said Rector, human resource with S2 status in increased by two people each year. Then the number of educators who have S3 status increased from 300 people to 304 in 2016 and increased by 306 in 2017.
"The same trend is happening to professors, that is with the increase of four professors at the same time," he said.
In the field of research and publications, UIN Jakarta has increased the budget. The budget of this research is allocated for various activities related to research quality improvement in the form of scientific publication to the patenting of intellectual property rights.
Research culture also continues to be developed by involving not only lecturers but also students. By involving students in this research process, it is expected to provide an excellent basis and experience for students to complement their insight into research methods and writing skills. In the field of research, number of international researchers continues to increase, including with the holding of collaborative research project with lecturers from UIN Jakarta.
“On the contrary, many lecturers of UIN Jakarta are involved as international researchers, such as a research fellow and visiting professor,” said Dede. (usa)
