University senate encourages UIN Jakarta to improve the quality of Three Pillars Of Higher Education

Diorama Room, UIN News Online –University Senate continues to encourage various achievements made by UIN Jakarta. This is intended so that the implementation of the Three Pillars of Higher Education (Tridarma PT ) at UIN Jakarta gains national and international recognition.

This was said by the Chairman of University Senate Abuddin Nata during the opening of 2022 Senate Meeting at the Diorama Room, campus I of UIN Jakarta, Wednesday (01/26/2022). Present in the event, Senate Secretary, Rector, Vice Rectors, and senate members.

In his presentation, Abuddin said that the University Senate during 2022 had carried out various activities. Among other things, finalizing the draft of the Chancellor's Decree into a document regarding the Tridarma PT, namely Education and teaching, Research, and Community Service.

According to Abuddin, all of the Rector's decrees were directed at strengthening and improving the implementation of Tridarma PT in order to achieve better and more improved results. This is done in order to strengthen the study program accreditation and higher education institution accreditation (AIPT) with the aim to achieving rankings, both at national, regional and international levels.

“With these various improvements, it is hoped that Tridarma PT's services to the community can also be improved,”

Abuddin also hopes that all members of the University Senate can support and encourage the implementation of the policy. Among these policies are to encourage the professor acceleration program and to encourage professors to carry out their three-year task, which is to produce at least one journal article with an international reputation or its equivalent.

In addition, the University Senate gave consideration to the proposed promotion of lecturers from lector to Assistant Professor and from Associate Professor to Professor, so that UIN Jakarta was listed as PTKIN with the highest number of professors.

The University Senate, continued Abuddin, also gave consideration to the proposal to open a new master's and doctoral level study program. This has been done, among others, at the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, the Faculty of Economics and Business, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, the Faculty of Psychology, and the Faculty of Da'wa and Communication Science.

“Some of these proposals have been approved and some are still waiting for the process,” he said.

Another agenda that has been implemented is to give consideration to the process of lecturer tranasfer from PTKIN at the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs and from other ministries to UIN Jakarta. These considerations are expected to strengthen and improve Tridarma PT services and provide added value for UIN Jakarta's achievements towards a world class university (WCU).

Meanwhile, in relation to UIN Jakarta's plan to become a Legal Entity State University (PTN BH), the University Senate continues to coordinate the transformation process with the leadership of UIN Jakarta. Abuddin hopes that all academics can support UIN Jakarta to become a successful PTN BH.

The same expectation is also carried out on the existence of government policies in terms of implementing Merdeka Learning Program at the Merdeka Campus (MBKM).

“The University Senate in 2022 will continue to serve according to its role and function, which is to give consideration to the leadership of UIN Jakarta in determining the Tridarma PT policy,” said Abuddin. (ns/usa).
