UKM Ranita Engages UIN Jakarta Freshmen in Environmental Awareness and Disaster Response

Aula Madya, UIN Online News — The Student Activity Unit (UKM) Ranita organized a talk show featuring Gus Fahmi Sayfuddin from Islamic Boarding School (Pesantren) Misykat Al-Anwar Bogor with the theme “Environment and Disaster Management” on Saturday (6/9/2025).

This talk show, which addressed environmental issues while incorporating Islamic perspectives, served as an informative discussion forum. Highlighting topics such as nature conservation, waste management, and the concept of a green campus, Gus Fahmi emphasized that humans are an integral part of the environment and nature; therefore, their contribution to preserving nature is significant.

“Humans are also part of nature itself. The environment is a unified system that stands in this world, and when one part disappears, it affects the others,” he explained.

In response to pressing environmental issues, participants engaged actively by sharing questions and opinions regarding current environmental conditions. Gus Fahmi responded, stating:

“I believe and am convinced that change must be voiced, no matter how small it is,” he said.

He also offered advice to new students on facing the challenges of the global era and preparing for the Indonesia Emas 2045.

“I am optimistic that a successful generation is one that bequeaths goodness to the next,” he added.

Ranita is a student activity unit focused on environmental and humanitarian causes, driven by a spirit of adventure. The organization operates through three divisions: environmental advocacy, disaster management, and Search and Rescue (SAR), which includes ground, aerial, and aquatic rescue—illustrating its dedication to nature and humanity.
