UIN JKT Voice Hunt 2026: Campus Sing-Off Draws Hundreds of Talented Student Vocalists

Diorama Room, UIN Online News – A total of 104 students from UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta successfully qualified for the preliminary rounds of the UIN JKT Voice Hunt 2026. The two-day audition phase took place at the Diorama Room from Monday to Tuesday, May 18-19, 2026, serving as a premier platform to discover and cultivate the musical talents of the student body.

The Organizing Committee Chairman, M. Hilwan Hadi, noted that the high number of registrants reflects the students' immense enthusiasm for creative spaces and talent-development initiatives within the campus environment.

"The participants who entered the auditions are active UIN Jakarta students showcasing diverse vocal characteristics, genres, and stage presence," he stated.

One of the panel judges, Dian Nurbani Adestiani, revealed that UIN Jakarta students possess significant vocal potential that deserves to be developed through competitive arenas and structured training.

"We hoped to discover exceptional potential, and it turns out that UIN Jakarta students possess beautiful voices. It would be a missed opportunity if we did not nurture their talent through to the next level," she explained.

During the evaluation process, the judging panel focused heavily on technical vocal quality, articulation, song interpretation, and the contestants' ability to connect emotionally with the audience.

"The voice I am looking for must be captivating enough to draw me into the performance, moving me to the point of getting goosebumps," she added.

The UIN JKT Voice Hunt 2026 is structured across several highly competitive elimination stages. The competition begins with open auditions, advances to a Top 20 semifinal stage decided by a public voting system, and culminates in a Grand Final featuring the Top 5 to 10 finalists who will perform two selected songs live before the judges and audience.

Beyond functioning as a mere talent contest, Hilwan added that the initiative offers students a stepping stone into the creative arts and music industry. Selected finalists will earn the official title of UIN Top Vocalist.

"They will also receive institutional backing to produce professional music videos, extensive university media publicity, and exclusive opportunities to perform at major UIN Jakarta corporate events," he added.

One of the contestants, Zhalfa Khalisa, shared that auditioning provided both an exciting thrill and a valuable learning curve.

"Since this was my first time, I definitely felt the butterflies. However, I was mostly excited because this is a brand-new experience for me. I also gained great feedback from the judges, which boosted my confidence for the future," she explained.

Concluding the event, Hilwan expressed hope that the UIN JKT Voice Hunt 2026 will continue to thrive as a premier outlet for artistic expression, solidifying the development of non-academic student potential across the university.
