UIN Jambi conducts comparative study visit to UIN Jakarta
Rectorate, UIN News Online – UIN Jambi is planned to open a medicine faculty. To find out the steps and processes for opening the faculty, UIN Jambi conducted a comparative study visit to UIN Jakarta on Thursday (04/22/2021). Their visit was welcomed by the Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis, accompanied by Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Zulkifli, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Hari Hendarto, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs Flori Ratna Sari and Vice Dean of General Administration Fika Ekayanti.
Rector of UIN Jambi Su’aidi in his remarks emphasized that his party plans to open the faculty of medicine and teaching hospital. For this reason, UIN Jambi needs to learn a lot from UIN Jakarta regarding the establishment of this faculty.
“UIN Jakarta is the first PTKIN in Indonesia that establish a medical faculty. Therefore, we need to learn a lot from UIN Jakarta regarding the process of establishing this faculty,” said Su’aidi.
He hopes that the existence of the medical faculty and teaching hospital at UIN Jambi in the future, can meet the demands of students who are interested in studying medical science.
“in the context of science integration, i think that the existence of a medical faculty is considered important and strategic,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis explained that the Faculty of Medicine (FK) UIN Jakarta was founded in 2004. Initially it was called the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) with four study programs, namely phycisian Education, Nursing Science, Pharmacy, and Public Health.
However, the faculty was later separated into the Faculty of Medicine (FK) with the phycisian education study program and the phycisian professional program and the Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKES) with the Public Health, Nursing and Pharmacy Study Programs plus the pharmacist professional pprogram and the Nursing professional program. In addition, FK UIN Jakarta also has a teaching hospital, namely the Jakarta Hajj Hospital and a number of network hospitals in the Jabodetabek area.
“Alhamdulillah, there are many graduates of FK UIN Jakarta who works at various hospitals throughout Indonesia,” said Rector Amany. (usa/ns)
