Tanjung Lesung, UIN News Online — UIN Jakarta’s Student Affairs recently hosted the Soft Skill Development and Leadership Coaching 2024 event, which commenced at Tanjung Lesung Beach Resort on Tuesday (30/7/2024). This program is specifically designed to enhance organizational and leadership skills for members of University Student Organizations (Ormawa), such as Student Activity Units (UKM), Autonomous Bodies (LO), the University Student Executive Board (Dema-U), and the University Student Senate (Sema-U).

The three-day event, running from Tuesday to Thursday (30/7 - 1/8/2024), was inaugurated by the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Alumni, Prof. Ali Munhanif, M.A., Ph.D., alongside the Head of the Academic and Student Affairs Administration and Cooperation Bureau (AAKK), Priyono, M.Pd., the Head of the Student Affairs and Alumni Team, Muhammad Furqon, S.Pd.I., M.A., and the Head of Student Talent Development, Samsudin, S.Kom., and representatives from the Ormawa.

Priyono emphasized that the event was part of a carefully crafted work plan aligned with the vision and mission of the UIN Jakarta rectorate.

“This event is a valuable opportunity for students to develop the essential skills needed for effective participation in organizational settings,” he remarked.

Prof. Ali Munhanif addressed the importance of fostering personal growth and resilience among students, noting that this stage of life is often marked by self-discovery and various challenges. He highlighted that the program aims to strengthen attributes such as mental resilience, a strong work ethic, achievement orientation, communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively.

“The main goal of this initiative is to encourage collaboration among Ormawa, particularly UKM, fostering an environment where they support, respect, and assist each other in all activities,” he explained.

Munhanif also pointed out that despite each UKM having unique visions, missions, and work programs, they all share the common objective of elevating UIN Jakarta's reputation at the national level, whether through competitions, associations, or other national events.

“This event is a crucial part of our efforts to cultivate exemplary and respected UKM at UIN Jakarta,” he concluded. (Muhammad Naufal Waliyuddin/ Photo: Muhammad Furqon)
