UIN Jakarta’s Social Trust Fund Hosts "Do Day Nation" to Ignite Student Philanthropy and Creative Education
Student Center, UIN Online News – The Social Trust Fund (STF) of UIN Jakarta organized an event titled “Do Day Nation: Creative Education, Brainstorming and Creative Craft” at the Student Center on Thursday, May 7, 2026. Held in commemoration of National Education Day, the event aimed to revitalize students' passion for learning while providing strategic insights into scholarship management and community service.
The forum featured two keynote speakers: the 2026 Chairman of STF Volunteers, Zainul Farihin, and the Campus Ambassador of UIN Jakarta, Salvia Neysa Syakira.
The Director of STF UIN Jakarta, Prof. Amelia Fauzia, Ph.D., expressed her hope that the event would allow students to broaden their horizons and strengthen networks among fellow volunteers. Echoing this sentiment, the Project Chairperson, Risa Tania, stated that the event was designed to serve as an interactive platform for students to exchange innovative ideas and showcase creative skills.
In the first session, Zainul Farihin outlined the roadmap to success for STF scholarship recipients. He explained that STF, established on June 20, 2012, was inspired by the institutional endowment fund model used by Harvard University to ensure financial sustainability for underprivileged students.
Zainul emphasized that the ultimate key to maintaining an STF scholarship is a genuine commitment to community contribution as a volunteer. He reminded recipients to avoid making empty promises during their initial interviews, urging them instead to participate actively in daily and weekly charity programs, such as the Candy Store initiative, the Wakafi Outlet, and various charity clothing bazaars.
"STF operates activities on both weekdays and weekends. Therefore, students have ample flexibility to remain active without compromising their classes or internship schedules," he asserted.
Meanwhile, Salvia Neysa Syakira highlighted the role of college students as agents of change in tackling educational hurdles as the country marches toward its Golden Indonesia 2045 vision. She critiqued several pressing issues, including systemic disparities in educational access and funding policies that have yet to resolve root-cause problems.
Salvia challenged students to cultivate critical thinking and high initiative during their university years. In her view, higher education is not merely about chasing a degree, but a process of intellectual maturation achieved through organizational involvement and networking.
"Do not ask what Indonesia has given to you, but ask yourselves what contribution you can offer to Indonesia," she urged.
The STF UIN Jakarta "Do Day Nation" initiative stands as a fresh, inspiring breakthrough launched specifically in 2026 to foster a sustainable culture of giving on campus.
