UIN Jakarta's Postgraduate Programs: Driving Global Recognition and Academic Excellence
Diorama Room, UIN News Online – UIN Jakarta hosted a Postgraduate Expose on Tuesday (17/9/2024) at the Diorama Room, campus I of UIN Jakarta, showcasing its Master’s and Doctoral programs along with various scholarship opportunities. The event served as a key platform for highlighting the institution’s commitment to advancing higher education and bolstering its international reputation.
The expose drew a diverse audience, including alumni, representatives from other universities, government bodies, and officials from Depok and South Tangerang municipalities. Participants demonstrated strong interest in UIN Jakarta’s postgraduate offerings, eager to explore further academic pursuits.
Zaenal Muttaqin, Head of UIN Jakarta's Information and Public Relations Center (PIH), opened the event with a warm welcome, expressing gratitude for the attendees' enthusiasm. He proudly shared that UIN Jakarta, now in its sixth decade, offers 82 academic programs across 12 faculties, including a growing Graduate School. “This year, several faculties will launch new Master’s, Doctoral, and Specialist programs to meet the evolving needs of the academic community,” he announced.
UIN Jakarta’s Rector, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., delivered the keynote address, underscoring the pivotal role of postgraduate programs in enhancing the university’s global recognition. "The Graduate School is not just an academic extension; it is the backbone of UIN Jakarta’s future growth and prominence,” he stated. He further emphasized the need for developing human resources and expanding strategic partnerships both locally and internationally.
Prof. Asep also highlighted the importance of a balanced approach to graduate education, blending theoretical knowledge with practical independence. He pointed out that UIN Jakarta’s postgraduate programs are a gateway to international collaboration, which necessitates a strong command of both Arabic and English. To this end, UIN Jakarta has established a dedicated Language Development Center aimed at improving students' linguistic skills.
Closing his remarks, Prof. Asep encouraged attendees to leverage UIN Jakarta’s comprehensive postgraduate offerings to build networks and partnerships globally. “UIN Jakarta offers the ideal environment for postgraduate education that fosters academic excellence and professional development, equipping students to meet future challenges,” he concluded.
