Faculty of Ushuluddin, UIN Online News — As the oldest faculty at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta and one of the pioneers of Islamic higher education in Indonesia, the Faculty of Ushuluddin (FU) continues to strengthen its position as a leading center for Islamic scholarship. Through the 2026/2027 Student Admissions (PMB), the faculty invites prospective students to pursue comprehensive studies in Islamic sciences while engaging with contemporary intellectual discourse.

Established in 1959 during the era of the Academy of Religious Sciences (ADIA), the Faculty of Ushuluddin is recognized as the first Faculty of Ushuluddin within Indonesia's State Islamic Higher Education (PTKIN) system. Throughout its history, the faculty has played a significant role in shaping generations of Islamic scholars, academics, and national leaders, including Indonesia's Minister of Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. KH. Nasaruddin Umar, M.A., and renowned Qur'anic scholar Prof. Dr. M. Quraish Shihab, M.A.

Its alumni include renowned Qur'anic scholar Prof. Dr. M. Quraish Shihab, M.A., Secretary General of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) Dr. H. Amirsyah Tambunan, M.A., sociologist and women's rights advocate Dr. Neng Dara Affiah, M.Si., as well as religious leaders, researchers, public speakers, and community activists across the country.
