UIN Jakarta's Faculty of Sharia and Law Strengthens Tri Dharma Collaboration with Western Region State University Law Faculties
Bengkulu, UIN Online News—The Faculty of Sharia and Law (FSH) at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta has strengthened its academic cooperation with Law Faculties that are members of the Western Region State University Cooperation Body (BKS PTN Wilayah Barat). This was formalized through the signing of a cooperation agreement in the field of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.
The signing took place at the annual work meeting of BKS PTN Wilayah Barat, held at the Faculty of Law, Universitas Bengkulu, from July 3–5, 2025. The event was attended by Deans and Vice Deans of Law Faculties from various regions, including Dean of FSH UIN Jakarta Prof. Dr. Muhammad Maksum and Dean of the Faculty of Sharia, UIN Fatmawati Soekarno Bengkulu, Dr. Suwarjin, S.Ag., MA.
Through this collaboration, FSH UIN Jakarta, along with other Law Faculties, agreed to exchange lecturers and external examiners for doctoral dissertations. Islamic Law lecturers at FSH are also expected to serve as supervisors or examiners for dissertations on Islamic Law themes in other Law Faculties.
In addition to the cooperation signing, the work meeting discussed several important agendas, including strengthening study program accreditation, standardizing curricula, and plans for establishing an Independent Accreditation Body for Law (LAM Hukum) if the judicial review at the Constitutional Court is not granted.
The meeting also featured the sharing of experiences from Universitas Bengkulu, which successfully achieved ACQUIN international accreditation. FSH UIN Jakarta, having also achieved similar accreditation, expressed its readiness to assist other law faculties in pursuing international accreditation in the future. (FSH Release/ZM)
