UIN Jakarta’s Center for Halal Product Assurance Development and Training Wins National Award for Outstanding Halal Assistance Institution at ISEF 2026

Jakarta, UIN Online News — The Center for Halal Product Assurance Development and Training (P3JPH) at Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University (UIN) Jakarta has earned a prestigious distinction by receiving the National Outstanding Halal Assistance Institution Award at the 13th Indonesia Sharia Economic Festival (ISEF) 2026. The award recognizes P3JPH’s contribution to strengthening Indonesia’s national halal ecosystem, particularly through assistance for business owners and human resource development in halal product assurance.

The statement was included in a press release from P3JPH UIN Jakarta received by UIN Online News on Monday (October 19, 2026). Dr. Sandra Hermanto, M.Si., Director of P3JPH at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, said the award would motivate the center to continuously improve the quality of its halal assistance services and expand their benefits for the public.

“This award motivates P3JPH to continue improving the quality of halal assistance, expanding the reach of its services, and strengthening human resource capacity in the halal sector. We are committed to providing professional assistance that delivers tangible benefits to business owners, particularly micro and small enterprises (MSEs), helping them better prepare to meet halal certification requirements and enhance their product competitiveness,” Sandra said.

She emphasized that strengthening the halal ecosystem requires sustained collaboration among universities, government agencies, relevant institutions, and businesses. Universities play a strategic role by advancing knowledge, providing training and assistance, and enhancing human resource competencies to meet the evolving needs of the halal industry.

The Rector of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., also expressed his appreciation for P3JPH’s achievement. The award, he noted, should encourage the university to further strengthen its academic and professional contributions to addressing societal needs and supporting the development of Indonesia’s halal industry.

“This achievement deserves recognition as a tangible contribution by a unit within UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta to the development of the halal ecosystem. We hope this accomplishment will inspire P3JPH to continue improving service quality, expanding strategic partnerships, and developing innovations that have a meaningful impact on communities and businesses,” the Rector said in a proposed statement of appreciation.

Through its training programs, assistance services, and human resource capacity-building initiatives, Sandra Hermanto said P3JPH UIN Jakarta continues to help business owners understand and comply with halal certification requirements. These efforts are expected to strengthen consumer confidence while enhancing the competitiveness of Indonesian halal products in domestic and international markets.

The recognition at ISEF 2026 marks an important milestone in P3JPH’s ongoing commitment to building an inclusive, professional, and sustainable halal ecosystem. Moving forward, P3JPH will continue to promote collaboration with government agencies, relevant institutions, universities, and other stakeholders to expand the reach of halal assistance and maximize the role of higher education in developing the Islamic economy.

“P3JPH UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta extends its gratitude to all parties who have provided their support and trust. We hope this achievement will serve as a continued step toward strengthening halal human resource development and advancing Indonesia’s halal industry,” Sandra concluded.

ISEF 2026 was held from October 14–18, 2026, at the Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC) in Senayan, Jakarta, under the theme “Accelerating Sustainable Growth in the Islamic Economy and Finance Through Synergy and Digital Transformation.” According to the festival’s official website, ISEF is part of broader efforts to position Indonesia as a global hub for Islamic economic and financial development.
