UIN Jakarta's BLU Research Grant Initiative Aims to Amplify Faculty Research Excellence

Puslitpen, UIN News Online – UIN Center for Research and Publication (Puslitpen) and the Institute for Research and Community Service (LP2M) convened a seminar on BLU Research Proposals at the Puslitpen office, Tuesday, (08/27/2024).

Waki Ats Tsaqofi, M.A., the research coordinator for Puslitpen, shared that the seminar received an impressive total of 200 research proposals. These proposals span across five funding clusters: capacity building, basic research of study programs, interdisciplinary basic research, higher education development, and university cooperation.

“We have 200 proposals distributed among these five clusters,” noted Waki.

While Waki could not specify the exact number of proposals that would receive funding, he indicated that decisions will be based on the available budget of approximately 4 billion IDR and the evaluations conducted by the committee team.

For the capacity building cluster, each proposal could receive up to 10 million IDR. “We will evaluate the proposals based on a predetermined passing grade, and the number of approved proposals will be aligned with the budget available,” Waki explained.

The budget allocations for the various clusters are as follows: 25 million IDR for basic research of study programs, 35 million IDR for interdisciplinary basic research, 60 million IDR for higher education development, and 85 million IDR for inter-university cooperation.

“The primary goal of this research grant is to enhance the national recognition of our research. We aim for our lecturers to publish their findings in both national and international journals, particularly in reputable ones, to boost UIN Jakarta’s visibility and reputation,” Waki concluded.
