UIN Jakarta’s Agribusiness Programs Earn Prestigious ASIIN International Accreditation

FST, UIN ONLINE NEWS – The Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) at Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University Jakarta has reached another global milestone. Its flagship Agribusiness programs—both Undergraduate (S1) and Graduate (S2)—have officially secured full international accreditation from ASIIN (Akkreditierungsagentur für Studiengänge der Ingenieurwissenschaften, der Informatik, der Naturwissenschaften und der Mathematik).

This achievement was formalized in a decree by the ASIIN Accreditation Commission on March 27, 2026. With this recognition, the Agribusiness programs are certified to meet rigorous international academic standards, with the accreditation remaining valid through September 30, 2030.

The Dean of the FST Husni Teja Sukmana, Ph.D. hailed the achievement as concrete evidence of the faculty’s commitment to providing globally competitive education. He emphasized that this recognition is not merely a title but a reflection of the academic community's dedication to quality.

A Focus on Urban Farming

UIN Jakarta’s Agribusiness program distinguishes itself through a specialized focus on urban farming. To bridge theory and practice, the program provides students with cutting-edge research facilities, including a dedicated Greenhouse complex located at the PPG Sawangan Campus in Depok, West Java.

The success of the Agribusiness programs expands FST’s growing portfolio of internationally certified departments. They join the ranks of Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics, which had previously secured ASIIN accreditation.

Commitment to Outcome-Based Education (OBE)

As a Germany-based agency, ASIIN utilizes an Outcome-Based Accreditation model. This approach moves beyond traditional inputs, focusing instead on the implementation of Outcome-Based Education (OBE).

To earn this seal of approval, educational institutions must demonstrate that their graduates consistently achieve specific professional competencies as measured by the Program Outcomes. This ensures that the learning experience at UIN Jakarta is on par with global benchmarks in science and technology, preparing students to excel in the international workforce.
