UIN Jakarta's 49th Doctor's Oath Ceremony: Strengthening Physicians' Dedication to Humanity
FK, UIN News Online – UIN Jakarta, renowned as a leading State Islamic Religious University (PTKIN) producing exceptional Muslim physicians, proudly held the 49th Doctor’s Oath Ceremony on Tuesday (21/01/2025). The solemn event marked a significant milestone for 15 graduates of the Faculty of Medicine as they pledged their commitment to the medical profession.
The newly sworn physicians include dr. Tasya Qonita, dr. Syifa Silvia, dr. Nur Lailatul Qodriyah, dr. Anisa Ayu Wardani, dr. Malika Zauzahroh Said, dr. Nada Wibawa, dr. Nadia Syifa, dr. Ahmad Malik, dr. Awan Witjaksana, dr. Fadhilah Rahmani, dr. Siti Aini, dr. 'Alal Aulia, dr. Afif Fadhil, dr. Vina Sulistiawati, and dr. Robi Aulia Rahman.
The ceremony was attended by prominent figures, including UIN Jakarta Rector, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., Vice Rector for Cooperation and Institutional Affairs, Din Wahid, M.A., Ph.D., and representatives from educational and medical institutions. Notable guests included dr. Fajar Siddiq, Chairman of the Indonesian Physicians Association (IDI) South Tangerang; dr. Brevita Bismedi, Sp.Bp., Chairman of the Indonesian Teaching Hospital Association; and dr. Dwi Tyastuti, S.Ked., MPH, Ph.D., President Director of Jakarta Hajj Hospital.
In his address, Rector Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar congratulated the new doctors and emphasized the importance of upholding Islamic values in their medical careers.
“Taking the doctor’s oath is not the end of your journey but the beginning of your lifelong commitment to humanity. Integrate the medical expertise you have gained with Islamic principles to serve the community,” he encouraged.
Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. dr. Achmad Zaki, M.Epid., Sp.OT., also expressed pride in the accomplishments of the graduates, emphasizing their role in providing Islamic health services.
“We trust that you will uphold the good reputation of your alma mater and contribute meaningfully to society, particularly by offering healthcare rooted in Islamic values,” he said.
The ceremony included the recitation of the 13-point Doctor's Oath, which draws from the Declaration of Geneva and the Hippocratic Oath. Key promises included dedicating their lives to humanity, maintaining the dignity of the medical profession, prioritizing societal well-being, and respecting all forms of life.
The event concluded with the ceremonial signing of the Doctor’s Oath certificate by the Dean and representatives of the new doctors, Dr. Robi Aulia Rahman and Dr. Nada Wibawa.
