UIN Jakarta's 136th Graduation: Pioneers of Change Towards Golden Indonesia 2045
Harun Nasution Auditorium, UIN Online News - The Open Senate Session of the 136th Graduation of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta was held on Sunday (25/05). A total of 554 graduates from various faculties were inaugurated in a moment full of emotion and pride. The event was attended by university leaders, senate members, lecturers, and families of the graduates from all corners of Indonesia.
The procession began with the entry of university leaders and senate members, followed by the singing of the national anthem, Indonesia Raya. The recitation of holy verses of the Qur'an and prayers also solemnly opened the event. The graduates inaugurated this time came from eight faculties, including the Faculty of Adab and Humanities with 104 people, the Faculty of Health Sciences 15 people, the Faculty of Medicine 4 people, the Faculty of Science and Technology 116 people, the Faculty of Economics and Business 121 people, the Faculty of Da'wah and Communication Sciences 105 people, and the Faculty of Ushuluddin 80 people.
The Secretary of the UIN Jakarta Senate, Prof. Dr. Masri Mansoer, M.Ag., officially opened the senate session. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of this graduation's theme, namely "Alumni of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta are Pioneers of Sustainable Change Towards Golden Indonesia 2045." According to him, the theme is not just a slogan, but a reflection of the great vision and hope for the real contribution of alumni in building Indonesia's future. He stated that UIN Jakarta alumni have been widely active and have become agents of change in society.
The rector's decree regarding the number of graduation participants was read by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Tholabi Kharlie, S.Ag., S.H., M.A., M.H. He stated that the total number of participants for the 136th graduation was 1,115 people, with 554 of them being graduated on that day. On the same occasion, he also announced the names of the best graduates from various study programs, both undergraduate and master's levels. Among the names mentioned were Maulida Fitria from the Faculty of Adab and Humanities with a GPA of 3.93, Raffi Akbar Setiawan from the Faculty of Ushuluddin with a GPA of 3.96, and Anggita Bunga Pratiwi from the Faculty of Da'wah and Communication Sciences with a GPA of 3.95. From the master's program, Muhammad Yusup and Evri Rizqi Monarsi were the best graduates from their respective faculties.
The official inauguration of the graduates was conducted by the Rector of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., who in his speech emphasized the importance of mental readiness, character, and consistency in navigating post-campus life. He conveyed that a person's future success is not only determined by academic scores but also by communication skills and personal integrity. The Rector also outlined various institutional achievements over the past two years, including UIN Jakarta's progress in world rankings in several fields of science such as philosophy, technology, and communication.
Regarding future policy directions, Prof. Asep explained that the campus is currently focused on building four main pillars: digital literacy, digital bureaucracy, green campus, and business independence. He mentioned, “We already have two independent hospitals as well as electric vehicles and electric bicycles as part of our commitment to environmental sustainability.”
One of the moments that left a deep impression at this event was the speech from the graduate representative, Laila Mutiara, the best graduate from the Faculty of Economics and Business. In her oration, she conveyed that graduation is not the end, but the beginning of true service to society. “Being an alumnus means being ready to be part of the solution to the nation's challenges. Golden Indonesia 2045 can only be realized if today's generation dares to start, even if alone,” she said. She also emphasized the importance of upholding the values of Islam rahmatan lil alamin (Islam as a mercy to all creation) in every action and work.
Before the official closing of the event, attendees were treated to an inspiring video that summarized the stories of the best graduates' struggles. In the video, the graduates recounted their academic journeys, the challenges they faced, as well as the motivation and support that strengthened them to reach this point. This presentation not only evoked emotion but also provided encouragement and an example for future generations.
The event was then officially closed by the Secretary of the Senate, Prof. Masri Mansoer, who expressed his gratitude to all parents and guardians for their moral and material support during the graduates' educational process. He hoped that the graduates would continue to uphold the good name of UIN Jakarta and become pioneers of change towards a brighter future for the nation.
With a spirit of dedication and tangible contribution, UIN Jakarta graduates are expected to be ready to become agents of transformation towards a more advanced, inclusive, and sustainable Indonesia.
