UIN Jakarta’s 134th Graduation Ceremony Honors Palestinian Martyr: A Call to Uphold Islamic Knowledge and Humanity
Main Auditorium, UIN News Online – On the second day of the 134th Graduation Ceremony, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta held a Senate Open Meeting at the Harun Nasution Auditorium on Sunday, November 17, 2024. The event featured remarks from UIN Jakarta alumnus, Dr. Pradipta Suarsyaf, who offered inspiring words of encouragement to the graduates.
Dr. Pradipta reflected on his pride in UIN Jakarta’s remarkable progress, noting that the university has not only excelled in imparting modern knowledge but also remains firmly rooted in its strong Islamic foundation. He expressed his admiration for how UIN Jakarta continues to produce graduates who are academically proficient, adaptable, and upstanding in character.
“UIN Jakarta is producing graduates who excel academically while staying true to the values of Islam, and this reflects the essence of education here,” said Dr. Pradipta.
He also highlighted UIN Jakarta’s contribution to global causes, citing the sacrifice of Dr. Mohammed Shabat, an alumnus who lost his life in Gaza, Palestine, while standing for justice and humanity.
“Dr. Shabat's martyrdom is a shining example of how knowledge and Islamic principles can drive one to take action for the betterment of society. His sacrifice should inspire us to use our education for the greater good,” Dr. Pradipta said.
Dr. Pradipta further stressed the responsibility that comes with the knowledge gained at UIN Jakarta. "The knowledge we acquire is not just for personal growth, but for the betterment of others," he said. "As exemplified by Dr. Shabat, we must apply our learning to address social issues, help those in need, and work towards global peace."
The graduation ceremony marked a new chapter for UIN Jakarta’s graduates, who are now prepared to leave their mark on the world, carrying with them the values of their alma mater to contribute to national and international progress.
