UIN Jakarta will organize virtual PBAK

FK Building, UIN News Online – Approximately 4,500 new students of UIN Jakarta for the 2020/2021 academic year will participate in a virtual Introduction to Academic and Student Culture (PBAK) through Zoom platform and to be live streamed via YouTube channel.

This was said by the Vice Rector for Student Affairs Masri Mansoer during the PBAK implementation technical meeting, held at FK building, campus II of UIN Jakarta, Tuesday (08/12/2020). Present in the event, the vice deans of student affairs, the Head of Student Affairs M Ikhwan, representatives of the University Student Senate, the University Student Council, and several Student Affairs office staff.

“Due to the implementation of Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) in the South Tangerang City area, we have agreed that this year's PBAK will be held online,” said Masri.

Technically, according to Masri, virtual PBAK needs careful preparation, especially from the technical point of view, such as the means of information technology to be used. Meanwhile, the concept is not much different, only a few adjustments have been made.

For this technique, UIN Jakarta will make optimal use of the information technology owned by UIN Jakarta which is located in the National Information and Communication Technology (NICT) building in the campus area 2. According to the plan, this location will be used as the center of PBAK activities.

The Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis and all Vice Rectors as well as heads of faculties and student organizations, according to the scenario, will be present at the venue in the opening ceremony.

“Insha Allah, the PBAK opening ceremony will be carried out by the Rector of UIN Jakarta and accompanied by the Vice Rectors, bureau chiefs, and all faculty leaders.

This activity will be held on 9-12 September 2020. In addition to introducing the world of academics and student affairs, they will also be briefed on national, Islamic, and religious moderation insights.

“The Indonesian Vice Minister Religious Affairs Zainud Tauhid, the Indonesian former Minister of Religious Affairs Lukman Hakim Saifuddin, and Deputy for Strategic Studies at the National Defense Institute Reni Mayerni are also scheduled to participate in the PBAK event,” he concluded (usa/ns)
