UIN Jakarta Welcomes Khoirul Roziqin Islamic Boarding School for Academic Visit, Showcases Diverse Academic Programs and Green Campus Culture

Harun Nasution Auditorium, UIN Online News — UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta welcomed dozens of students and teachers from Khoirul Roziqin Islamic Boarding School (Pondok Pesantren Putra Khoirul Roziqin) in Beji, Depok, for an educational visit as part of its Rihlah Ilmiah program. Held on Wednesday (January 28, 2026), the visit introduced participants to the university's academic environment, diverse fields of study, admissions pathways, and Green Campus initiatives, while encouraging students to pursue higher education.

The delegation was welcomed by representatives from the Center for Information and Public Relations (PIH), including Dr. Deden Mauli Darajat, S.Sos.I., M.Sc., Taufan Maulana Firdaus, S.Pd., and Ahmad Fadlan Ramadhan, S.Kom., accompanied by UIN Jakarta Student Ambassador Nadifa Ambar Faizah.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Deden Mauli Darajat, Coordinator of Public Relations and Protocol, emphasized the important role of Islamic boarding schools in today's educational landscape. He explained that Islam recognizes no separation between religious and secular knowledge, making the integration of various disciplines a fundamental principle of education at UIN Jakarta.

“Knowledge comes from Allah, and we should seek it wherever it can be found. That is the essence of knowledge integration. Today, we no longer study classical Islamic texts only in their printed form—we also engage with digitized manuscripts supported by modern technology,” he said.

Dr. Deden also introduced the university's three institutional values—Innovation, Green, and Humanity. He explained that UIN Jakarta's Green Campus initiative extends beyond tree planting to promoting an environmentally responsible lifestyle through sustainable transportation, including campus shuttle buses and electric vehicles that help reduce carbon emissions.

Meanwhile, Karimullah, M.Ag., Principal of MA Khoirul Roziqin and a 2025 graduate of UIN Jakarta's master's program, expressed his pride in returning to his alma mater. He described the visit as both a nostalgic homecoming and an opportunity to inspire his students to continue their education at UIN Jakarta.

“Alhamdulillah, I have returned to the university where I graduated. This time, I have brought my students so they can become familiar with my alma mater. I hope they will continue this academic journey and become the next generation of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta students,” he remarked.

The program continued with an information session led by Taufan Maulana Firdaus, accompanied by Student Ambassador Nadifa Ambar Faizah. They introduced participants to UIN Jakarta's faculties, admissions pathways, and the wide range of Student Activity Units (UKM) that enable students to develop leadership skills, creativity, research experience, and extracurricular interests.

“University is the best place to discover your potential. At UIN Jakarta, students can join numerous organizations in arts, sports, research, and many other fields. We encourage you to develop your leadership and soft skills through these activities,” Taufan explained.

The session was met with enthusiastic participation, as students actively asked questions about academic programs and campus life. One eleventh-grade student shared that the visit had broadened their perspective on higher education and strengthened their aspiration to study International Relations at UIN Jakarta in 2027.

“I'm very happy because I learned so much about UIN Jakarta today. This visit has motivated me even more to pursue International Relations here, as I have a strong interest in English and global affairs,” the student said.

Through initiatives such as Rihlah Ilmiah, UIN Jakarta continues to strengthen its outreach to schools and Islamic boarding schools, introducing prospective students to its integrated academic tradition, modern learning environment, and commitment to sustainability through its Innovation, Green, and Humanity values.
