UIN Jakarta Welcomes High School Visit, Showcasing Global Integration and Academic Pathways
Academic Building, UIN Online News – UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta continues to intensify its outreach for the 2026/2027 Academic Year Admissions. In the latest recruitment drive, students from MAN Pacitan (a state Islamic high school in East Java) visited the campus to gain firsthand insight into admission pathways, academic programs, and the university's global advantages. The event took place at the Academic Lounge, Academic Building, on Tuesday, May 5, 2026.
The Head of the UIN Jakarta Admissions Center, Rachmat Baihaky, Ph.D., explained in his opening remarks that UIN Jakarta holds a strategic position as one of the leading Islamic higher education institutions in Indonesia. This status is bolstered by its prime location near the capital city, an extensive international cooperation network, and a distinguished faculty of professors.
He noted that the university's Islamic identity serves as a distinct value proposition on the global stage. "In many countries, fields like information technology or communication are commonplace. However, when UIN Jakarta graduates possess competence in these fields alongside a deep understanding of Islamic values, it creates a unique appeal in the international arena," he explained.
The Admissions Head expressed hope that UIN Jakarta would serve as a bridge connecting students to global opportunities. "This visit could be the stepping stone for you to advance to the international stage," he added.
The session continued with a presentation by University Communications Specialist, Taufan Maulana Firdaus, who outlined the various admission tracks at UIN Jakarta. These include merit-based national selection, state exam selection, Ministry of Religious Affairs centralized tracks, and independent university enrollment.
Currently, UIN Jakarta offers 56 study programs across 12 faculties, supported by various scholarship schemes, 16 student activity units, and autonomous student organizations, including the local chapter of the global youth network AIESEC.
Taufan added that UIN Jakarta is a pioneer in transforming state Islamic colleges into comprehensive universities. This evolutionary track is further validated by institutional accreditation and global recognition through international ranking systems. "In addition to our national accreditation, we are active in the QS World University Rankings. This is an important indicator of how UIN Jakarta continues its transformation toward becoming a world-class university," he said.
Representing the high school faculty, Agus expressed hope that the visit would broaden the students' horizons, both academically and non-academically. "We hope this initiative continues to thrive as a fruitful collaborative platform between MAN Pacitan and UIN Jakarta," he noted.
One of the visiting students, Fathan, shared their motivation for choosing UIN Jakarta as their destination, stating that he and his peers wanted to get a realistic view of university life in the capital region. "We want to seriously prepare for our future. We are in the 11th grade now, so it is time to focus on making the right choices," he said.
