UIN Jakarta Welcomes Freshmen with Extracurricular Expo at UKM Fair

Student Center Field, UIN Online News — The Student Activity Units (UKM) of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta organized an interactive activity to help newly admitted students become familiar with the university’s various extracurricular organizations on Saturday (September 6, 2025), featuring a wide range of activities, including games, a theater play, a musical performance, karaoke, a modeling photo workshop, and free health checks.

The Campus Da’wah Organization (LDK) Syahid held quizzes and public speaking activities, while the Student Sports Federation (FORSA) offered mini soccer and chess games. The Quran Reciter Association (HIQMA) hosted goblet drum jamming for students interested in learning the instrument.

The Kalacitra Photography Student Community (KMF) added to the event’s excitement by offering a free modeling photo workshop open to the entire academic community, providing high-quality photo sessions.

Environmental activities were also featured, with the Arkadia Student Community presenting a rock climbing activity. In addition, Syahid Theater staged a short theatrical performance themed “Monologue on Democracy” performed by Nauval Hali.

UKM Fair UIN Jakarta also prioritized the health of the academic community by inviting the Indonesian Red Cross Student Unit and the UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta Hospital to provide free health check-ups. The event also featured special guest performances from bands such as Black Horses, Binafsih, Loris, Ubaidillah, and Start Koplo.

Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Prof. Ali Munhanif, M.A., Ph.D., emphasized that UKM Fair serves as a platform and exploratory arena for new students.

“We must truly understand why UKMs are essential in student activities. We live in an era where formal qualifications are no longer the sole determinant of success. Skills, communication abilities, writing competence, character, and the development of talents and interests are crucial for entering the professional world,” he explained.
