Diorama Room, UIN Online News — UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta welcomed an educational visit from SMA Al-Azhar Asy-Syarif Medan, North Sumatra, on Monday (6 April 2026). Held in the university's Diorama Room, the visit brought together 75 eleventh-grade students and their accompanying teachers to learn more about UIN Jakarta's academic programs and undergraduate admissions pathways.

The event was attended by representatives from the Center for Information and Public Relations (PIH), including Zaenal Muttaqin, S.Th.I., M.Ag., Head of PIH, together with Taufan Maulana Firdaus, S.Pd., Ahmad Fadlan Ramadlan, S.Kom., and Yuyun Yuliana. The university's student ambassadors, Egidia Indah Lestari and Nadifa Ambar Faizah, also participated in guiding the students throughout the visit.

Welcoming the delegation, Zaenal Muttaqin highlighted UIN Jakarta's pioneering role in integrating Islamic values with modern scientific disciplines. He explained that the university has grown into a comprehensive institution offering a broad spectrum of academic programs beyond Islamic studies.

"UIN Jakarta was the first university in Indonesia to implement the integration of religious and scientific knowledge. In addition to Islamic studies, we offer a wide range of programs in fields such as Medicine, Economics, and Technology, many of which have become references for other Islamic universities," he said.

He also noted that UIN Jakarta continues to expand enrollment opportunities, particularly in highly competitive programs such as Medicine, supported by the university's comprehensive healthcare infrastructure.

"Our Faculty of Medicine is fully prepared and has achieved the highest accreditation status, 'Excellent' (Unggul). We have also successfully integrated the former Indonesian Hajj Hospital into UIN Jakarta, which now operates as UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta Hospital, further strengthening our medical education ecosystem," he added.

Representing SMA Al-Azhar Asy-Syarif Medan, Khoirunnisa, S.Pd., Vice Principal for Curriculum Affairs, explained that UIN Jakarta was selected as the destination for the school's educational trip because of its reputation as one of Indonesia's leading universities. She expressed hope that the visit would provide students with valuable insights as they begin preparing for university admission in their final year of high school.

"We organized this educational trip so our students can gain a deeper understanding of the study programs they may pursue in the future. We want them to make informed decisions and prepare themselves well before entering their final year," she said.

The main presentation was delivered by Taufan Maulana Firdaus, accompanied by the university ambassadors. Students received comprehensive information about the university's admission pathways, including SNBP, SNBT, and the Independent Admission scheme. The session also highlighted several special admission opportunities, including dedicated pathways for outstanding students and Qur'an memorizers.

"UIN Jakarta offers a special achievement-based admission pathway for students who have memorized at least 15 juz of the Qur'an. Applicants may also use their UTBK-SNBT or UM-PTKIN examination results when applying through the Independent Admission pathway if they are not admitted through the national selection process," he explained.

The interactive question-and-answer session reflected the students' enthusiasm. One participant, Anis, asked about scholarship opportunities for Qur'an memorizers. In response, the PIH team explained that UIN Jakarta provides special non-academic achievement pathways for hafiz and hafizah who have memorized a minimum of 15 juz, offering additional opportunities for admission based on their accomplishments.

Prospective students are encouraged to regularly visit UIN Jakarta's official website and official social media platforms for updated information on admission schedules, eligibility requirements, and application procedures for SNBP, SPAN-PTKIN, SNBT, UM-PTKIN, and the university's Independent Admission pathway.
