UIN Jakarta Unveils Professor Robe Design by Designer Didit Maulana at Rakerpim 2026
Jakarta, UIN News Online — UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta officially launched its latest Professor Robe (toga Guru Besar) design during the Leadership Work Meeting (Rakerpim) 2026 held at Grand Sahid Jaya Hotel, Jakarta, Friday (13/02/2026). The design was created by renowned Indonesian designer Didit Maulana.
Although not present in person, Didit Maulana delivered a presentation on the design philosophy through a recorded video shown to university leaders during the event.
In his presentation, he stated that the design reflects UIN Jakarta’s broader institutional direction and vision.
“This work is dedicated to UIN Jakarta as a reflection of its commitment and institutional vision in producing innovative education based on information technology and oriented toward global needs. It represents UIN Jakarta as an institution that upholds commitment, professionalism, and integrity in every academic activity,” he said.
He further explained that the visual concept was inspired by UIN Jakarta’s aspiration to grow as a globally recognized university grounded in the integration of knowledge, Islamic values, Indonesian identity, and science.
“This motif was born from the spirit to continuously grow as a globally reputable university with excellence in the integration of knowledge, Islam, Indonesian values, and science,” he added.
The Professor Robe design incorporates a palette of navy blue, cobalt blue, midnight green, yellow gold, and grey, each representing key institutional values such as intellectual depth, peace, integrity, and the pursuit of excellence.
These colors are intended to symbolize UIN Jakarta’s aspirations toward academic advancement, social transformation, and national competitiveness.
According to Didit, the robe design is enriched with detailed motifs carrying philosophical meaning. The interconnected patterns represent harmony, justice, and balance in human life, aligned with universal order and natural equilibrium.
“The interconnected motifs reflect the principles of justice, harmony, and inner peace in human life, in line with universal law and cosmic balance,” he explained.
A continuous repeating pattern is interpreted as a symbol of global vision and UIN Jakarta’s mission of universal benefit without spatial and temporal boundaries.
Meanwhile, a central focal motif represents the university’s emphasis on integrating Islamic studies, science, and modern technology.
The lotus flower motif symbolizes noble aspirations toward the highest form of knowledge and truth for the benefit of humanity.
Didit emphasized that the robe design adopts a modern silhouette while maintaining a professional, elegant, and dignified appearance, enriched with distinctive Indonesian cultural elements.
“We present a design that reflects UIN Jakarta through a modern silhouette that still conveys professionalism, elegance, and dignity, with distinctive Indonesian motifs that carry authority,” he stated.
