UIN Jakarta to Host 140th Commencement Ceremony for 1,557 Graduates, Integrating High-Tech Digital Vision
JAKARTA, UIN Online News – UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta is fully prepared to convene its 140th Open Senate Commencement Ceremony for Undergraduate, Master’s, and Doctoral programs in 2026. This prestigious institutional event is scheduled to take place over two days, from Saturday to Sunday, May 23-24, 2026, centered at the Harun Nasution Auditorium on Campus I.
A total of 1,557 graduates from various academic programs are scheduled to participate in the graduation procession, which will commence at 6:00 AM WIB daily. For this cohort, UIN Jakarta has established a central theme: “Affirming National Ideals to Cultivate a Competitive Digital Generation.”
To maintain organizational order and institutional solemnity, the graduation procession is strategically divided into two daily sessions based on respective faculties:
- Day One (Saturday, May 23, 2026): Featuring graduates from the Faculty of Educational Sciences (FITK), Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH), Faculty of Theology (FU), Faculty of Dakwah and Communication Studies (FDIKOM), Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKES), and the Graduate School (Sps).
- Day Two (Sunday, May 24, 2026): Featuring graduates from the Faculty of Sharia and Law (FSH), Faculty of Islamic Studies (FDI), Faculty of Psychology (FPsi), Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), and the Faculty of Medicine (FK).
To ensure the seamless execution of all operations, UIN Jakarta has mobilized the 140th Commencement Organizing Committee under Rector's Decree Number 240 of 2026. This multi-sector committee integrates various operational lines, including protocol, media relations and documentation, graduate credential verification, diploma and transcript management, logistics and campus security, catering services, and the network technology infrastructure team.
As part of the technical preparation checklist, the committee will host a mandatory graduation rehearsal on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at the Harun Nasution Auditorium. On the exact same day, UIN Jakarta will also run an institutional orientation briefing for the graduates, providing critical resources regarding global postgraduate scholarships.
The preparatory briefing will focus on advanced educational motivation, profiling available Master's and Doctoral tracks, and introducing the Indonesia Bangkit Scholarship (BIB) sponsored by the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
This educational resource session will feature prominent UIN Jakarta professors, including Prof. Maila Dinia Husni Rahiem and Prof. Muhammad Zuhdi, alongside the Head of the Religious Education Funding Center at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Dr. Ruchman Basori.
During the 140th Commencement exercises, UIN Jakarta will present institutional awards to top-ranking graduates at both the university and faculty levels. Beyond cumulative grade point achievements, the university will also introduce a specialized category recognizing outstanding undergraduate theses across various majors, reinforcing the campus's commitment to high-caliber research and academic scholarship.
