UIN Jakarta to extend cooperation with LIPIA

Rectorate, UIN News Online – To discuss the continuation of cooperation between the two institutions, Institute for the Study of Islam and Arabic (LIPIA) make a visit to UIN Jakarta on Tuesday, (01/29/2019). The visit was led directly by Director of LIPIA Dr. Abdul Aziz al-Sadhan, accompanied by two other officials.

During the meeting, Abdul Aziz said the purpose of his arrival is to discuss the MoU that had been established since 2005. Furthermore, LIPIA wants to open Arabic Language class in UIN Jakarta to improve Arabic language skills for the public, students, even members of the Indonesian Police and Indonesian Military (TNI).

“We are ready to conduct student and lecturer exchange programs with UIN Jakarta. Additionally, we are also ready to collaborate in community service programs,” said Abdul Aziz.

In response, Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis, accompanied by the Dean of FITK UIN Jakarta Ahmad Thib Raya and Dean of FDI Hamka Hasan welcomes the initiation of the cooperation program. In order to improve the quality of education on both campuses, especially in the field of Arabic language, she hopes that these programs can be realized very soon.

“We express our gratitude for the initiation of these collaborative programs, hopefully the program can be realized very soon and can provide a positive contribution for both institutions,” said Rector.

To UIN News Online, Rector further explain, one of the programs that will soon be implemented is the Arabic Language Refresher for UIN Jakarta lecturers. At least 20 lecturers from various backgrounds will be trained at LIPIA for two days.

For information, LIPIA is an educational institution established in Jakarta. The college is a branch of the Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.  The main purpose is to teach Arabic and Islam. (usa)
