UIN Jakarta to Explore Collaboration Opportunities With Hamad Bin Khalifa University

Rectorate, UIN News Online – Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis has left for the Qatari capital Doha on June, 12, 2022. The main agenda of the visit was to explore collaboration opportunities as well as to introduce UIN Jakarta to the government and the people of Qatar. During her four-day visit, Rector Amany was accompanied by several staff from the Indonesian Embassy in Doha. Rector Amany Lubis from Doha, Monday (06/13/2022) reported that her first day of visit was made to Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU). During her visit, she was welcomed by Vice Provost or Vice Rector of HBKU Prof Michael Benedik. Benedik in his remarks said that HBKU is a well-known research university in interdisciplinary studies in Qatar. HBKU is also the only Qatari national university located in the Education City area along with eight world-renowned campuses, such as North Western University and Cornell University. The visit of Rector Amany Lubis is a big step for UIN Jakarta to become a world class university (WCU). She also explained that UIN Jakarta is an Islamic university under the supervision from the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs which has many study programs, both secular study programs and religious study programs. “The meeting with Vice Chancellor Benedik was very productive. Several programs will be agreed upon, including, student exchanges, professor exchanges, publications, research, and the development of resource-based innovation technologies such as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),” said Rector Amany. Therefore, Rector hoped that all levels of faculties, study programs, institututes, and Graduate School at UIN Jakarta can move with synergistic plans and implementations to support the internationalization of UIN Jakarta. After the meeting, Rector and the Indonesian Embassy entourage went on a campus tour guided by Izzudin from Tunisia to witness the monumental design of the mosque in Education City. (usa)
