UIN Jakarta to celebrate World Arabic Language Day 2021

Rectorate, UIN News Online – UIN Jakarta will celebrate the World Arabic Language Day 2021 at the Harun Nasution Auditorium, Campus I of UIN Jakarta on Wednesday (12/22/2021) in conjunction with Mother's Day.

This was said by the Dean of the Adab and Humanities Faculty Saiful Umam to UIN News Online, Monday (12/20/2021). According to Saiful, the commemoration of World Arabic Language Day at UIN Jakarta starts at 08.30 to 12.00 PM.

This event also invited several speakers, including the Religious Attache of the Saudi Arabian Embassy to Indonesia, Sheikh Ahmad Bin Isa Al Hazimi, Arabic Lecturer at Ummul Quro University, Mecca Abdullah bin Nasir Al-Qarni, and the Director of the Institute of Islamic and Arabic Sciences (LIPIA) Jakarta. International Arabic Language Day is commemorated every December 18, 2021. The commemoration of Arabic Language Day has been established by the UNESCO. The day also promotes multilingualism and cultural diversity.

Based on the records, Arabic is an international language officially established by the United Nations (UN). There are more than 422 million people speak the Arabic language. This makes Arabic one of the most widely spoken languages around the world

In Indonesia, the commemoration of World Arabic Language Day is held in various educational institutions, such as Islamic higher education institutions and Islamic boarding schools (pesantren). (ns/usa)
