UIN Jakarta Students Successfully Perform International Community Service in Malaysia
FDI, UIN News Online – 12 students of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta have successfully carried out Community Service activities in Tawau, Sabah, Malaysia. The activity is carried out in the framework of the International Community Service (KKN). The 12 students of Jakarta UIN KKN in Malaysia came from 5 faculties, consisting of Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) 6 students, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) 3 students, Faculty of Sharia and Law (FSH) 1, Faculty of Da'wah and Communication Studies (FIDKOM) 1 student, and 1 FDI student.
The main task of this International Community Service in the field of education is teaching, participants were divided into three groups and assigned to carry out various educational, social and cultural activities in the three Community Learning Centers (CLC). CLC is an Indonesian School established by the Government of Indonesia in collaboration with the Malaysian Government and Plantation Companies located in Tawau, Sabah, Malaysia. While the placement itself is in CLC Balung River, CLC Merotai, and CLC Tunas Perwira.
The Community Service by UIN Jakarta Students was facilitated by the Indonesian Consulate in Tawau and officially opened by Sulistijo Djati Ismojo as the Head of Indonesian Representative Office at the Consulate Office of the Republic of Indonesia (KRI) Tawau, on Tuesday, July 24, 2018. The participants were warmly welcomed and briefed and notices about several issues from all aspects, both social, legal, educational and economic, including about the complicated issues about the legality of workers who have yet to meet.
One of the participants, Rafif Litsa Hanifah said that the experience of the International Community Service was a valuable experience, where she could meet the children of the motherland, the majority of whom had never set foot in their homeland, but loved and had high aspirations for success and return to Indonesia.
