Rectorate, UIN News Online – UIN Jakarta students managed to seize the opportunity to participate in an international program, International Youth Leader in Malaysia, Saturday-Monday (04/9-11/2022).
This was conveyed by the chairman of the contingent Ahmad Fahmi Fawaid to UIN News Online, Friday (04/22/2022). “There are many things that we can learn as delegates. We are taught to be able to develop leadership skills, time management, sensitivity and cohesiveness,” said Fawaid.
Fawaid said that the students of UIN Jakarta were only one of many contingents from various ASEAN universities. The UIN Jakarta contingent itself consisted of seven students from various faculties who successfully passed the screening.
The seven student participants in the activity were Ahmad Fahmi Wahid (FSH), Khoirul Fajar (FDIK), Abdullah Azzam Lahadji (FU). Then, Khoiroon Nisaa (FDIK), Niken Fharadilla (FDIK), Rifani Zahra (FU), and Razita Nadhra Yuslima (FAH).
During the event, explained Fawaid, participants took part in a number of activities together with other college contingent students. Among them are participating in the Humanity Concert for Palestine which is held to raise donations for the Palestinian people.
This activity was carried out considering that the International Youth Leader himself took the topic of We Love Palestine. The concert itself succeeded in raising donations of RM 50,300 or equivalent to IDR 180 million.
In addition, the entire contingent also conducted a University Visit to the Malaysian National University. At this university, participants were invited to identify various academic activities to chocolate production carried out by the university's Faculty of Science and Technology.
Furthermore, the participants were invited to attend the International Youth Summit with the theme: “Digital Transformation in The Global Business Environment” which was attended by a number of resource persons. The activity was closed with a City Tour to a number of historical locations such as the Putra Jaya area and the Putra Jaya Mosque.
Fawaid also hopes that the participating students will gain new insights as well as be motivated to expand their role in their respective fields. “Hopefully in the future we can provide benefits for the university and its surroundings. I also hope that UIN Jakarta students can compete and play an active role in the international arena,” he said. (zm/usa)
