UIN Jakarta Student Organizations Host Strategic Briefing for Prestigious Indonesia Bangkit Scholarship

JAKARTA, UIN Online News – The Departmental Student Association for Al-Qur'an and Tafsir Studies (HMPS IAT) collaborated with the Cakrawala Indonesia Bangkit (CIB) student community at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta to host an information session regarding the "Indonesia Rise" Scholarship (Beasiswa Indonesia Bangkit/BIB). The virtual event, held on Friday, May 29, 2026, carried the theme: "Realize Your Dreams, Serve the Nation through Higher Education."

Representing the faculty leadership, the Vice Dean for Student Affairs at the Faculty of Theology, Dr. Aktobi Ghozali, officially opened the session. In his remarks, he emphasized that receiving a scholarship should serve as a powerful catalyst for public service. "When you receive a scholarship from BIB or any other institution, you must use it as motivation to achieve your academic goals, graduate on time, and, ultimately, serve the nation," Dr. Aktobi stated.

The Vice Dean also issued a firm reminder to potential scholarship recipients regarding their duty to the public. "Do not forget that once you graduate, your service should not just be for yourself or your family, but for the country. To do otherwise would be a betrayal of the support you received," he added.

Aligning with this vision, the Chairman of HMPS IAT, Muhammad Fitrah, stated that the BIB program is an essential vessel for shaping future leaders. "This scholarship is not merely about financial aid, but about building the nation's future through a generation that is excellent, principled, and courageous enough to drive change," Fitrah remarked. He also encouraged students to shed their hesitation, noting that often the greatest obstacle is not a lack of ability, but the fear of taking the first step.

The Head of the CIB UIN Jakarta community, Ahmad Faza Mutaqi, urged all participants to maximize the insights provided by the speakers. "I encourage all participants to take full advantage of this virtual forum, as the knowledge shared here is incredibly valuable for those planning to apply for undergraduate, Master's, or Doctoral programs," he advised.

During the policy session, Dr. Siti Maria Ulfah, Head of the Higher Education Religious Scholarship Team, represented the Ministry of Religious Affairs. The session was interactively moderated by Hani, a 2023 BIB awardee from Universitas Muhammadiyah Mataram.

Dr. Ulfah shared strategic updates regarding this year's registration system, which has been integrated with the Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP), resulting in an extended application deadline of June 5, 2026. She detailed the comprehensive coverage of the scholarship, which includes registration fees, tuition, monthly living stipends, health insurance, research grants, international seminar funding, and even family allowances for Doctoral (S3) recipients. Furthermore, she highlighted strategic pathways, such as Double Degree schemes with various universities in the UK and Australia, boarding school scholarships, and "fast-track" programs for seamless transition from Bachelor's to Master's or Master's to Doctoral studies.

Following the policy briefing, participants engaged in tactical discussions regarding selection strategies, led by three scholarship awardees:

  1. Nanda Asifa Putri, an awardee for the Master's program at Jakarta State University (UNJ), provided a deep dive into administrative regulations and how to curate a standout application file for the initial screening phase.

  2. Nyiayu Khofifah, a Master's awardee at UIN Jakarta, shared real-world experiences on navigating substance tests, psychological challenges, and tips for answering interview questions for postgraduate applicants.

  3. Ahmad Faza Mutaqi, an undergraduate awardee at UIN Jakarta, shared specific tactics and simulations for academic entrance tests for Bachelor's degree applicants.

The information session concluded with a collaborative Q&A session, leaving participants well-prepared to navigate the competitive application process for the prestigious Indonesia Rise Scholarship.
