UIN Jakarta Student Najwa Lathiifah Publishes Eight Books While Pursuing Her Undergraduate Studies
Jakarta, UIN Online News — Najwa Lathiifah Saepudin, a second-semester student in the English Literature Program at the Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH), UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, has demonstrated an impressive literary achievement by publishing eight books while pursuing her undergraduate studies. Viewing writing as the most profound way to express emotions that words alone cannot convey, she has published two bilingual poetry anthologies—Love Rhymes for Him and Scratched by Love—alongside a six-volume novel series entitled Dance of Destiny.
Najwa's literary journey began during her years in senior high school, when writing evolved from a simple hobby into a meaningful medium for expressing her thoughts and emotions through poetry. Encouraged by her mother, who recognized her talent, she decided to compile her writings into a published collection. Her first anthology, Love Rhymes for Him, features 99 poems, marking the beginning of a growing portfolio that later expanded with a second poetry collection, Scratched by Love.
"Writing is my way of expressing the deepest emotions that even the world cannot fully understand. I want people to realize that there are countless forms of human emotion, and every one of them deserves to be heard," she said.
After establishing herself as a poet, Najwa challenged herself to write longer and more complex narratives. Through extensive research and careful storytelling, she developed the Dance of Destiny series, which now consists of six novels spanning a wide range of genres. The collection includes royal romance in A Lie Reveal The Truth Behind Love, religious drama in My Life With Mr. Zhuang Yunxi, dark romance and psychological obsession in Burning Obsession of Mr. and Mrs. Yunxi, fantasy in The Mannequin, and medical drama in her sixth novel, Heartbeat.
Among her published works, the fifth installment, The Authority of Mr. Maximilian Luo Chengxiao, has become her best-selling title. The novel explores the serious issue of human trafficking while conveying the message that every criminal act ultimately carries consequences.
Despite balancing the demands of university life, Najwa has developed a disciplined approach to managing her academic responsibilities alongside her passion for writing. She describes writing as an enjoyable creative outlet rather than an obligation.
"I write whenever inspiration comes. If no ideas come to mind, I simply take a break. My principle is to finish the manuscript first and revise it later," she explained.
Although highly productive as an author, Najwa remains committed to her academic responsibilities. She makes it a habit to complete university assignments as soon as they are given, allowing her to devote uninterrupted time to developing her creative ideas.
According to Najwa, her greatest motivation is to help readers experience stories and emotions they may never encounter in their own lives. She believes that every human emotion deserves to be acknowledged and that writers serve as bridges for those who struggle to express their own experiences and inner wounds.
Through the Dance of Destiny series and her poetry collections, Najwa Lathiifah has shown how a passion first discovered during high school can grow into a remarkable literary career, inspiring readers while demonstrating that academic life and creative achievement can flourish side by side.
