UIN Jakarta Strengthens Legal-Academic Synergy Through UIN Law Fair VIII
UIN Jakarta, UIN Online News — UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta has once again demonstrated its commitment to bridging the gap between academia and law enforcement through the Kejari Goes to Campus program, held in collaboration with the UIN Law Fair VIII. This event, hosted by the Faculty of Sharia and Law (FSH) on Thursday (August 21, 2025), served as a platform that connects legal theory with real-world practice.
With the theme “Understanding the Strategic Role of the Prosecutor’s Office in the Criminal Justice System under the Revised Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP)”, the program was attended by UIN Jakarta Rector, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D.; Head of the South Tangerang District Prosecutor’s Office, Apsari Dewi, S.H., LL.M., Ph.D.; UIN Jakarta Faculty of Sharia and Law lecturer, Dr. Alfitra, S.H., M.Hum.; and students from the Law Studies Program.
In his remarks, Rector Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar highlighted the importance of creating collaborative spaces where students can directly learn from legal practitioners.
“We see it as essential to open collaborative platforms for students to learn firsthand from legal professionals. This way, they not only grasp the theory but also gain a real understanding of how the law operates in practice,” he expressed.
Echoing this, Apsari Dewi, Head of the South Tangerang District Prosecutor’s Office, emphasized the prosecutor’s strategic role, which extends beyond prosecution to safeguarding public interest and ensuring justice is served. She also commended the UIN Law Fair VIII as a positive academic competition platform, noting that debates and scientific writing remain highly relevant to sharpen students’ critical thinking skills.
“I appreciate UIN Law Fair VIII as a positive and constructive academic event. Debates and scientific papers are not only relevant but also vital tools to hone law students’ critical thinking, strengthen their arguments, and prepare them to face intellectual challenges in real-world settings,” she said.
Meanwhile, Dr. Alfitra provided an academic perspective on the 2023 KUHAP revision which aligns with the regulation by carrying the spirit of criminal justice reform. However, she noted that such approach still requires an in-depth review to ensure its stability without compromising with legal certainty or inter-agency coordination.
The event proceeded smoothly, with a strong spirit of collaboration reflected in the organizing committee’s efforts. Muhammad Aghvadiva, Chair of UIN Law Fair VIII, saw this program as a tangible form of support for enhancing law students’ competencies.
“Collaboration with the South Tangerang District Prosecutor’s Office not only enriches theoretical understanding but also provides students with opportunities to grasp real-world legal challenges,” he stated.
Through this collaboration, UIN Jakarta reaffirms its role as a campus committed to supporting key initiatives that broaden legal understanding and provide richer academic experiences for its students—in line with its mission to produce graduates who are excellent, critical, and uphold integrity.
