UIN Jakarta Strengthens Good Governance through Consignment on Personnel Services
Jakarta, UIN Online News — Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University Jakarta, through the Administrative and Human Resources (AUK) Working Team, convened a Personnel Services Consignment under the theme “ASN Transformation: Talent Management, Optimal Service, Professional Discipline, and Quality Human Resources.” The event took place at the Adia Convention Center, Campus II, from Wednesday to Friday (8-10/10/2025).
The hybrid program, conducted both onsite and online, brought together a wide range of participants, including university leadership; human resource analysts of UIN Jakarta; officials from the Ministry of Religious Affairs’ Bureau of Human Resources; the Directorate of ASN Talent and Career Development; the Directorate of ASN Recruitment and Mutation; and the Directorate of ASN Status and Dismissal, as well as lecturers and education staff attending virtually via Zoom.
In his keynote remarks, Rector Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., underscored that professionalism is the cornerstone of a Civil Servant (ASN) in fulfilling their duties and responsibilities. He reminded participants that job reassignment should not be viewed as a setback but as an opportunity for professional growth and experiential enrichment.
“A professional civil servant will begin his self-development. One must be adaptable and committed to performing optimally for learning and advancement,” he emphasized.
The Rector also highlighted the importance of continuous evaluation and capacity building for human resources. Assessment, he noted, should not only identify shortcomings but also serve as a mechanism for recognition and professional growth.
“HR evaluation must be comprehensive and ongoing. It meant to assess weaknesses and strengths by providing punishment, reward, achievement, and coaching where improvement is needed,” he added.
Vice Rector for General Administration, Prof. Dr. Imam Subchi, M.A., reported that the number of ASNs with Government Employee with Work Agreement (PPPK) status at UIN Jakarta has increased significantly. He expressed optimism that the upward trend will continue into the upcoming third phase of recruitment, which will also include additional healthcare personnel for the Syarif Hidayatullah University Hospital.
“The number of PPPK ASN at UIN Jakarta has risen remarkably. Meanwhile, the third recruitment phase will follow soon with an even larger number, including healthcare staff for our university hospital,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Human Resources Bureau of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Dr. H. Wawan Djunaedi, S.Ag., M.A., explained that rotation and reassignment are not punitive actions but organizational strategies to maintain a dynamic and healthy bureaucracy.
“An organization without movement loses its vitality. Rotation keeps the system fresh, encourages innovation, and prevents monotony,” he remarked.
He further elaborated that as part of the ministry’s ongoing bureaucratic reform, four key pillars of human resource transformation are being implemented: responsive regulation, performance and potential management, digitalized services, and organizational culture strengthening. He also reminded all Civil Servants of the importance of understanding the ethics of civil service to ensure every administrative decision aligns with moral and procedural integrity.
“The essence of understanding civil service ethics lies not only in compliance but in ensuring that every action and decision reflects accountability and administrative integrity,” he explained.
Through this consignment event, all ASN members of UIN Jakarta are expected to deepen their understanding of performance-based personnel management and professionalism. The forum serves as an important momentum to reinforce transformation, discipline, and commitment to delivering high-quality, transparent, and integrity-driven public service.
