UIN Jakarta strengthen its relationship with IAIN Kendari
Jakarta, UIN News Online – In order to improve its academic and institutional quality, as well as to develop the three pillars of higher institution, UIN Jakarta and IAIN Kendari agreed to sign Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Wednesday (02/19/2020), in Jakarta.
The MoU was signed by the Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis and the Rector of IAIN Kendari Faizah Binti Awad during the IAIN Kendari leaders work meeting (Rakerpim) 2020.
Amany Lubis hoped that both UIN Jakarta and IAIN Kendari can be the best collaboration partner in achieving the academic development efforts of each institution. Moreover, IAIN Kendari itself has a vision of becoming the Center for Development for Interdisciplinary Islamic Studies in the Asian Region in 2045.
“This cooperation is expected to strengthen our endeavors in scientific development in the country,” said Rector Amany.
On the same occasion, Amany also gave a presentation on the academic and institutional development of UIN Jakarta. In her presentation, she considered that the IAIN Kendari has the potential to improve its development progress.
According to Amany, IAIN Kendari is one of the Rabithah al-Jamiat al-Islamiyah or the World Islamic University league members from along with UIN Jakarta and other 14 national universities. The total members of Rabithah al-Jamiat al-Islamiyah are 120 world universities.
“This membership can be utilized by national Islamic universities to establish academic cooperation on an international level. Academics and university leaders of league members can be invited to collaborate in organizing academic conferences or publication collaborations,” said Amany.
With various study programs and lecturers, Amany continued, IAIN Kendari can also internationalize more quickly through the selection of prospective students from various regions, especially from the Southeast Asia. Muslim students from various countries such as Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia and various other countries can be offered to pursue their study at IAIN Kendari.
“With this potential, we can develop ourselves into the best higher institutions,” she concludes. (usa/zm/mi)
