Rectorate, UIN News Online –  UIN Jakarta slaughtered sacrificial animals on Eid al-Adha 1443 H. The distribution of sacrificial meat was held on campus 1 of UIN Jakarta, behind the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), Tuesday (07/12/2022).

On this Eid al-Adha, UIN Jakarta slaughtered at least 29 sacrificial animals, consisting of 15 cows and 14 goats. The sacrificial animals come from the academic community, cooperation partners as well as individuals.

Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis in her remarks said the sacrifice is a process of slaughtering animals under certain conditions and intended for the sake of Allah. The lesson learned from the feast of sacrifice is caring for others.

“The lesson from the implementation of this sacrificial service is social awareness,” said Rector.

According to Amany, sharing with fellow human beings is the highest value in Islamic teachings. During a pandemic like today, people are in a lot of trouble. This sacrificial feast can be used as a momentum to share with the community.

She also said that at the moment of Eid al-Adha, there is also a reward that will be obtained by the sacrificial committee, namely the reward of cooperation. (ns/ar/usa)
