UIN Jakarta Signed Cooperation with Tainan Universities Alliance Taiwan

Harun Nasution Auditorium, UIN News Online – UIN Jakarta and Tainan University Alliance agree to cooperate in the field of research development. The cooperation agreement is signed by the Rector of UIN Jakarta Prof Dr Dede Rosyada MA and the head representative of Tainan University Alliance Taiwan. Dr Huey-jen Jenny Su, witnessed by the Tainan Mayor Dr Ching-Te Lai at Harun Nasution Auditorium, Campus I of UIN Jakarta, Friday, (3/10).

The mayor of Tainan, Dr Ching-Te Lai in his remarks stated that the cooperation is to strengthen the relations between Indonesia and Taiwan in the field of academic cooperation, especially between the universities in Tainan city and universities in Indonesia. Previously, the same cooperation is also carried out between Tainan Universities Alliance and the University of Muhammadiyah Jakarta.

“This cooperation is expected to enrich the academic cultures between Indonesia and Taiwan,” said Lai.

Ching-Te Lai said that UIN Jakarta is considered as the potential partner for academic cooperation because UIN Jakarta has a good reputation in a Muslim-majority country. “As a university under the Mnistry of Religious Affairs, UIN Jakarta has a deep respect for science and culture,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Representative of Taipei Economic and Trade Office (TETO), John Chen, stated that the cooperation with Indonesian universities is a part of New Southbound Policy implementation. The cooperation is expected to tighten the relationship between these two countries. (rs)
