UIN Jakarta Sends Off 1,582 Graduates to Shape Indonesia’s Future

Harun Nasution Auditorium, UIN News Online – UIN Jakarta proudly celebrated the achievements of 1,582 students at its 133rd graduation ceremony, held at the Harun Nasution Auditorium on Sunday, August 24, 2024. The event, marked by solemnity and pride, was themed “Strengthening a Resilient Generation for the Future of Indonesia.”

On the first day of the ceremony, Rector of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., conferred degrees upon 786 graduates, recognizing their dedication and perseverance throughout their academic journey. The ceremony was officially opened by the Chairman of the Senate, Prof. Dede Rosyada, M.A., who expressed his pride in the accomplishments of the graduates.

Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Tholabi, S.Ag., S.H., M.H., M.A., announced the best graduates and those who received special honors for their academic excellence. Among the doctoral graduates, Meinarini Catur Utami emerged as the top achiever with a GPA of 3.79. In the master’s program, Novita Rizal Putra stood out with a perfect GPA of 4.00. For the undergraduate program, the top graduates included Elva Kemala Fauziah from the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teaching Sciences (FITK) with a GPA of 3.97, Rahma Rizka Muhammad from the Faculty of Ushuluddin (FU) with a GPA of 3.91, Komarudin from the Faculty of Islamic Dirasat (FDI) with a GPA of 3.96, and Novia Ashilia Arumawati from the Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKes) with a GPA of 3.87. Additionally, Belvin Shandy Aurora from the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) received the award for the best thesis with her work titled “Detection of Al-Qur'an Recitation Using Pre-Trained WAV2VEC2 XLS-R Model (Case Study of Surah Al Insyirah).”

In her valedictory speech, Elva Kemala Fauziah expressed deep gratitude to UIN Jakarta, describing it as her second home where she not only gained knowledge but also built lifelong relationships. “UIN Jakarta has witnessed the tears, laughter, and struggles of my journey alongside my friends,” she shared, reflecting on her time at the university.

Rector Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., delivered a powerful message to the graduates, emphasizing the importance of optimism, character, and integrity in shaping the future of the nation. He underscored that the impact of a scholar on society is profound and far-reaching. “This is a significant achievement because each scholar contributes to the greater good of society,” he noted.

Prof. Asep also acknowledged the challenges faced by students in their educational pursuits and highlighted the support provided by the Social Trust Fund (STF) UIN Jakarta, which offers scholarships to those in need. He encouraged graduates and their families to contribute to the STF, continuing the cycle of giving and support for future generations.

Mochammad Afifuddin, S.Th.I., M.Si., an alumnus of UIN Jakarta, also addressed the graduates, stressing the importance of consistency and integrity. He urged his fellow alumni to uphold these values as they embark on their professional and personal journeys.
