UIN Jakarta Scout to Educate the Young Scavengers
Ciputat, UIN NEWS online- UIN Jakarta Scout conducting teaching activities for young scavengers in the area of ​​East Ciputat, South Tangerang. This activity is a work program socio-cultural and religious. This students activities is in collaboration with Yayasan Al-Hakim.
Wahyu Fahmi Rizaldy, as the Chief of Scout said to UIN News Online on Wednesday (4/5). He said the event is a routine program of SMEs since 2012. Each year, the Scout send it’s members as volunteers to teach.
UIN News Online observes no fewer than 15 students are taught by volunteers every Monday to Friday. "Most of them are children who do not attend school because of a economical shortage. They usually helps parents every day by scavenging, "he said.
Given the number of children of scavengers who are unable to enjoy education, Wahyu added that this activity is very important and beneficial to to do continually. To that end, he said, it makes this activity as a routine activities since the last five years.
"These activities will be carried out continously. Scouts not only as an organization in UIN Jakarta, but also charged with carrying out community outreach by providing education to children who are economicly poor but has the spirit of high learning, "he said. (usa-im)
