UIN Jakarta Rector Affirms Green Campus Commitment and Strengthens Collaboration between Agencies
AUK Bureau Conference Room, UIN News Online - In an effort to strengthen the Green Campus program, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta received a trash can grant from Bank BJB Syariah, in the General Administration and Personnel Bureau (AUK) Conference Room, Tuesday (10/12/2024). This grant is part of the strategic cooperation between UIN Jakarta and Bank BJB Syariah to support the creation of a clean, green, and sustainable campus environment.
The handover ceremony was attended by the Rector of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., along with the Vice Rector for General Administration, Prof. Imam Subchi, M.A., and the Vice Rector for Cooperation and Institutional Affairs, Din Wahid, M.A., Ph.D. The Head of Bureau of UIN Jakarta was also present, and the President Director of Bank BJB Syariah, Arief Setyahadi, and his colleagues.
Collaboration for Environmental Sustainability
This collaboration is part of UIN Jakarta's vision to integrate sustainability principles in every aspect of campus operations. Grants in the form of trash bins will be distributed to various strategic points in the campus environment, including faculties, Rectorate Building, Harun Nasution Auditorium, Postgraduate School (SPS), and Teacher Development Center (PPG). With this facility, students, lecturers, and staff are expected to be able to more easily sort organic and inorganic waste, thus supporting better waste management.
President Director of Bank BJB Syariah, Arief Setyahadi, added that this grant is part of Bank BJB Syariah's corporate social responsibility (CSR) in supporting environmental conservation. “We hope that this collaboration will not only support UIN Jakarta's Green Campus program, but also inspire other campuses to follow suit,” he explained.
UIN Jakarta's Sustainable Commitment
In his speech, the Rector of UIN Jakarta expressed his appreciation for the support provided by Bank BJB Syariah. This trash bin grant, according to her, is not only physical assistance, but also a symbol of joint commitment in preserving the campus environment. “UIN Jakarta's Green Campus will run consistently and sustainably. This grant is one of the real steps to create a more environmentally friendly campus environment,” he said.
Through this collaboration, UIN Jakarta emphasizes its commitment as a university that cares about environmental issues. The handover of the trash bin grant is expected to be the beginning of other bigger initiatives, in line with UIN Jakarta's mission to become a clean, modern, and sustainability-minded campus.
