UIN Jakarta Ready to Support Ministry of Religious Affairs' Push for Public Information Openness

Rectorate Building, UIN Online News – UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta affirms its commitment to continuously improve public information openness, aligning with the push from the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag RI).

This commitment responds to the call from the Head of Kemenag's Public Relations and Public Communication Bureau (HKP), Akhmad Fauzin, who urged all State Religious Higher Education Institutions (PTKN) to adhere to Law Number 14 of 2008 concerning Public Information Openness (UU KIP). Fauzin conveyed this during a monitoring and evaluation (monev) assistance activity on public information openness at the Kemenag Central Office on Thursday (July 3, 2025). “All Work Units (Satker) under the Ministry of Religious Affairs must comply with the UU KIP, including by following the public information openness assessment system,” Fauzin asserted before representatives from various PTKNs.

He also emphasized the need to accelerate improvements in information openness for PTKNs that are not yet informative. Based on the Information Commission's (KI) 2024 assessment, only five out of 72 PTKNs were deemed informative. UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta was one of them, with a score of 97.13. “Around 60 more of our PTKNs are non-informative. They must follow the example of the five informative higher education institutions,” said Fauzin.

Head of the Kemenag Information and Documentation Management Team (PPID), Syafruddin Baderung, also reminded PTKNs to continuously coordinate with the Information Commission to resolve issues regarding public information openness assessments. “This assistance serves as a solution so that PTKN Satkers can directly know the options from the Information Commission. Because for monev, KIP personnel must be involved,” he stated.

He also emphasized that every PTKN must work professionally to support public information openness. “This has become our commitment to the KIP. All Satkers must be informative,” he stressed.

Separately, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta Rector, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., as the PPID Superior, affirmed his full support for Kemenag's directive to maintain and enhance the quality of public information services.

“As a State Religious Higher Education Institution, UIN Jakarta is committed to maintaining its informative status. We are ready to follow Kemenag RI's guidance and continuously strive to improve the quality of information management so that public services become more optimal,” said the Rector.
